Single nozzle vs plate system
Plate is really the only way, I think now. . . Since I blew my last motor when my nozzle decided to turn on its own. . . Plates just seem like a way better way to go, since the distribution looks a lot more even.

That's one of the reasons when the tnt power ring came out it was so popular, the nozzles in that didn't move on people. That, and their jetting was advertised as 100hp, was 4 sizes bigger then anyone else's 100 hp LOL.

I dont mean to jack your thread but i'm lookin to do the same change from a nozzle to a plate. Where would I pick one of these up? and how much does it cost typically to convert over? I have a ls1 with a 78mm throttle body.

Couldn't you drill and tap the TB to install the nozzle? If you decided to run NA it would ruin a good TB though...
Plates look cleaner. Tapping the TB would look clean too. I never liked the idea of plumbing the nozzle in the rubber bellow, but it has worked for alot of people when installed correctly.

Problem would still be distribution. The nozzle, unless in the perfect height/placment, would end up having distribution problems, as it would be aimed at one of the runners, hammering that one cyl. harder then the rest.
If, you had a single nozzle in the TB aimed wrong and it was shooting a 150 shot right at one of the runners, you'd end up putting probably 75 hp worth of nitrous into 1 cylinder...... think of that as if you were doing that to all 8, that would be hitting that one cyl as hard as if you were putting 600 hp of nitrous to the entire motor. Which sure, you can do, but the life expectancey, of a properly built motor is somewhat limited with that.
On a stock shorty... a 600 shot, yeah I don't think that would make it past the 300 foot mark without hurting something. So doing the same thing to 1 cylinder, isn't going to work.
Stock pistons, really need to have the distribution and tune up good to survive for any period of time.

The nozzles were a pain to keep straight. Even with the nut that goes in the boot, the nozzles kept turning. When hitting the spray to make sure the stages work, the plate made the motor rev harder even with the same jets in it. If the nozzles turning wasn't bad enough, they would flex in the boot when you hit the spray, so they would end up spraying on an angle.
The plugs looked good with even distribution to all cylinders but that was on the first stage of a 100 shot. Only hit the 200 shot one time and spun a bearing so now I have alot of ls1 parts for sale.

I could'nt agree with you more but I also think you guys need to take a step back and remember for every good thread with solid info there's 10 bad ones on this site. This place is littered with bad info and when you use this site as a textbook bad **** tends to happen.
