It's an old rule of thumb to go by. It seems quite a few have gone past that tho.

What engine do you have? Also is it modded or not? Then you can also figure out what your engine can take.

Well it will take a 150 like a champ.. if you need anymore than you could just do a cam bolt ons and be close to 500whp and than hit it with a 100-150.

Hit it with a 150 with all supporting mods. Then go from there.

I think you'll be more than pleasantly surprised with a 75-100 shot being that you've never sprayed nitrous before. Definitely start small and work your way up. Jumping into something with a huge shot without any experience with it is asking for trouble. Just my two cents worth of advice.

Not if the system is thrown together the correct way IMO. If he just put a nozzle kit on the car activated by a button with no safety than it will probably end in disaster but if he set everything up correctly i.e. window switch, WOT switch, FPSS or just a microedge than it should be perfectly fine.

Screw that FPSS. Window switch it and run a WOT switch, and set the window switch so it turns on no lower then 3000 rpm and about 100 to 200 rpm before the limiter, and you will be fine.

Nick is not saying a 150 shot won't work! He is simply stating to start small and get use to the spray before uping to that size shot. Wich is very good advice Imo...

Bingo. I was pm'ing back and forth with the original poster and I guess there was some back story missing from my post.

Like stated above start off on a smaller shot and work your way up so that way you how the car is going to react to the nitrous. I would also at least put it on a dyno so you can check the AFR of the car so that away you know your not running lean or anything.

NOt only with the system you might want to think about pairing a Window Switch, FPSS ( Even though most dont like it...i'd rather put a $50 part on to potentially save a motor ), and bottle heater. Those items will net you a basic system.

the 08 gt has the L76(360hp), wich is basically a detuned ls2 motor. Except for the fact it utilizes l92 heads. the factory 87 octane tune and dod cam kills some power. The 09 gxp utilizes the ls3, wich has the same l92 heads as the l76, but 12 more ci and better cam! The factory tune is alot better on the gxp ls3 car as well!

My car made 435rwhp on motor and I've hit it with 350+ worth of nitrous so no, it is not true.

I meant ls2 block with l92heads/intake manifold that are also used in the ls3 engine
