Default Zex Perimeter Plate systems

I like the idea and design of this nitrous plate system. Does anyone have any experience with these or know of someone that does?

Thanks

if you have a 4150 style manifold then it is a decent plate for the money.

Default All that you know

Do you know how long this plate has been available? Do you know of any big time racers using it? Do you have dyno numbers comparing HP claims to actual results? Do you know if NOS Big Shot solenoids will work with this plate up to at least 250 HP? Are their jetting charts accurate or do they seem a little fat/lean? Anything else you think is worth mentioning.

Thanks

The plate itself is actually pretty good.... I'd just buy that, and buy the rest of the stuff from another source though. I've seen too many problems with zex junk over the years to say it's worth a poo.

That plate however, they hit pretty good on, I know several people using them with 300 hits and they work pretty good.

My responses to your questions are in red.

Most of the "big time" guys are running direct port kits.Do you have dyno numbers comparing HP claims to actual results? My car hasn't been on a dyno on the jug, but from the mph on my fastest (not quickest, the sixty foots were garbage last year due to having a COMPLETELY stock rear suspension) pass (137) I can guestimate that the car probably makes 625-650 to the tire on the hose (175-200ish shot). It made 435 to the tire NA. Do you know if NOS Big Shot solenoids will work with this plate up to at least 250 HP? I have never used the big shot solenoids, but I would assume they will keep up. I'm pretty sure they're good to like 350 a piece assuming the rest of the system can keep up (the plate is "rated" to flow around 400). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this. Are their jetting charts accurate or do they seem a little fat/lean? The jetting was a little fat for me, but it will vary depending on the application. Check you plugs and adjust accordingly. Anything else you think is worth mentioning. The plate seems to work really well. Distribution seems to be even (as judged by even readings on the plugs). It hits hard and is a nicely made piece. Look on youtube and there's a video of them shooting random **** through the plate. There's also a video of the thing on a vic. jr. manifold that gives you an idea of the distribution characteristics. Those two videos are pretty neat and is what sold me on that plate.

Thanks

I bought the plate only and intend to use it with the NOS Big Shot solenoids, bottle, etc. that I already had. I also intend to set up for 175-200 HP and I'm curious about the jets you ended up using and how much timing you pulled. Also, do you know of any articles on this system (other than on the Zex website)? Do you think there is any real benefit to the absence of cross bars on the plate? Have you used other plates that you can compare it to?

Thanks

I run the standard Zex jetting for 150-200hp. 150hp is like 64N/53Fuel and 200 is 74N/63F.. 900psi bottle 6 psi FLOWING fuel pressure. My Air Fuel numbers went from 12.5:1 motor to 11.5:1 with these jettings. Plugs look good. I run a -7 NGK with 150 and -8 with the 200 hit .028" gap. 11.5:1 comp small block chevy. Oh and I pull 6 degrees for the 150 and 8 for the 200. I see a 11mph gain and a 13+ mph gain with these jets.
