Default 250 Wet Shot

Throwing a 250 shot at my 440 LS7. And no more than that - trust me. I would like to know the advantages and disadvantages of doing a plate shot to a direct port. I have heard you can tune per cylinder with a direct shot, i do see the 1k difference in price.
The intake will be a ported FAST 102 fitted for LS7 heads.
Car should run very low 9s maybe make an 8.9!

Thanks for any input!

im not a guru but i would say with the money in that motor and setup, id want the abslute best refined tune which would be avaialble with a direct port. A plate will handle the 250 but since you already have the FAST I would go direct port with that setup.

Your 440 probably does not have a good enough nitrous piston to "throw" a 250 at it. start small get a tunner that knows how to read plugs. also talk to your engine builder and see what he thinks the piston/ring pack can handle.

Anything over 200 wet i like a DP. Really a DP is always best but under 200 the cost does not out way the benifit.

Sounds like a direct port shot is the way to go. Should not skimp out...

The pistons and rings are a custom set from Wiseco. The motor was built to do more than a 250 but i am hoping to do low 9s maybe a high 8 with no more than a 250 shot. Seems like a 175 shot will take me to low 9s maybe...

Unless you are going to run a class that requires you to run a plate I would go with the DP.

If you have the extra cash you might as well do the DP.
