Is there a bottle heater that is better than the other? Fixing to buy one and there are so man options like dynotune, nx, zex, HSW. Which should I look at getting?

 

Compare wattage, and overall coverage. You'll also want to decide what style of activation you'd like too...I prefer the pressure switched variety over the thermostatically controlled. We also send out weather pack connectors with ours for ease of removal if necessary.

I have a high output dynotune one. It's worked pretty good for me so far, it will heat a cold bottle up in about 15 to 20 min.

I am, buying a water bath to put in the new trailer so I can drop them in and heat soak a full bottle to a set temp, this should allow me to use the electric heater alot less, mainly just to maintain the heat, if need be. I do also have a bottle blanket that I bought from dynotune that I use to help maintain temp when it's cold out, and it does work pretty good. Fits a little tighter then I think it should but iit does work decent as well.

Just don't use torch please. I have done it in a pinch.. but I really don't like that method, and track officials don't like it either.

 

yea no torch here. But I seen them use a torch on PINKS one time and I was like thats a no,no. Yea I have seen the dynotune one and the price seems very good. Is it an automatic one? I have seen some say automatic and some don't say it. Is it just a selling point or are there some that really aren't automatic?

 

It's not automatic, you can I think get the stuff from them to make it that way, but I prefer the on/off of a switch, even if it came with the stuff to make it automatic, I wouldn't use it.

Just an on/off switch is such a bad idea. I would never recommend it to anyone. The HSW is a nice heater, I run it myself on a pressure switch. I chose it because it is pretty, along with their very nice bottle bracket setup found here:

I'll say that I will not leave the heater on unless I'm in the car with it on, and every bottle I use it on has a pressure ga, so I can monitor it.

I would NEVER just turn the heater on and walk away. Well o.k. if it's cold out and the bottle's at 600 psi and I'm trying to get it up to 1100 so I can purge it down to 1050... I'll walk away for 5 min.. but that's it.

 

I don't trust anyone to religiously take precaution with it like they should. Accidents happen, people forget and leave it on. I know because I did it. I had no blowdown tube either, so it just blew out in my car luckily. What do you think causes some of the MASSIVE damage we have seen from exploding bottles? Heaters that are left on with no pressure switch and the disc not blowing when it goes over pressure.

I don't see where a pressure switch would hurt your setup or cause you not to like it, it won't ever affect your setup at all unless you happen to forget to turn it off, in which case it will save your ***. All the way up to max pressure it's still just an on-off switch. It's almost like saying you don't like lean a/f cut off switches for the nitrous because you have a FP gauge that you watch.

 

I've solved the issue another way, I bought an enclosed trailer, and am putting a hot water bath heater in the trailer that's regulated.

This way, the bottles are heat soaked to a set temp.... the electric heater will only be used to maintain/reheat in the lanes, while I'm in the car.

 

I don't think I will go with the dynotune it it isn't automatic.

 

My buddy has this one from Dynotune and it includes an adjustable pressure switch (so it's automatic). It works great and I will be using this one too this spring.

Get the Nitrous Outlets 860 heater. Its pretty badass and its pressure controlled.

+1 on HSW, have one waiting for my install and will trust it 100%.

 

860 bottle heater/bracket is awesome. the metal element heats up pretty quick. i switched to a push system, but i still use it as a bracket/backup.

As posted above we offer an extreamely nice unit thats a bottle bracket and heater in one. It also is an automatic heater that works off of pressure. Everyone that we've sold one to have loved and so far we havent had any complaints on it.
