Default Maxing out the MAF Dry shot planning

I am getting Cartek to put me together a Forged LS6 383, I am trying to estimate my Dry capability using the MAF for fueling.

1/4 mile passes
With the Stock lower end H/C on what I think is bout a 100 dry shot logged a MAF Freq high of 10692. The MAF Freq is limited to 12000.

NA Pass 400 RWHP the Max MAF Freq logged 9870

100 Dry shot increased the NA MAF reading by 822 Hz (10692 Hz)

If the 383 is about 50 HP more NA than my origional motor...MAF Freq should be maybe 10281 WOT NA

That would give me 1719 hz for a dry hit before the MAF hit the Max of 12000Hz.

That being said, if 100 shot was 822 HZ, would it be unreasable to say, in theory, I can spray a 200 dry shot (additional 1644 hz), and just be under maxing out the MAF (Dat would be about 11925 Hz)?

Logging rocks BTW...Fuel Pressure...Bottle Pressure...Activation on/off, IDC...

That KR above has been nagging me all season...I think was my connecting rod bearings (#1 and #2) that Spun

I don't think that's really a reliable way to predict, so I would vote for testing first. I'd keep a close eye on the injector DC and your AFR.

I doubt you will run into a problem even if you do max the MAF freq, but there's no substitute for testing.

edit: Personally I don't get alarmed at brief AFR spikes unless they go over 13.0:1 when on the bottle.

Beer,

I ran the 200 shot dry on my 383. I wish I had some scans from when I did, but that was a while bace. I think that is about the limit of the maf though. Glad to see you are stepping up displacement.

Thanks Sig!

Should have everything together end of May.

I should be all set for the next few seasons, Forged 382 from Cartek, ECS put me in a RPM level 5 A-4 and Yank convertor (3000 Stall) as well a Z06 rear w/ 3.42's and a hardened Driver side shaft last year... Not sure if I am gonna keep the plate system, but thinking maybe two stage dry hidden...

I will be able to answer my own question here in time, and of course share what I learned.

Do you intend to spray upstream from the MAF? There are significant advantages to using something like the Harris interface to add fuel and spraying downstream from the MAF. Your results will be much more predictable and controllable and the MAF limit won’t be a problem.

Nice to know! You will have to PM me when everything is together. I want to hear all about the results. I rarely get on the forums anymore. Life has just become too busy, lol.
