Spraying in 4th gear 4L60E
Any consequences spraying 4th gear in an auto, assuming the transmission can hold it?
I'm curious about how safe it is on the nitrous. Anything that would change that I should adjust for? I'm thinking the car would go richer because of the load but I'm curious what everyone has experienced and whether it is a bad thing to do.
Car has ~500 whp NA with a 150 shot with 3.91 gears with a built 4L60E. Car is an 06 GTO. I did it for 3 passes and everything seemed ok but I wanted to see what other's think.
I'm also curious if I'd be faster at the track running through the traps in 3rd with a 28" tire or staying with current 3.91s and 26" tire and going into 4th.

I have always heard that it is bad to spray in 4th, and to even get it into 4th at the track. Really not to sure why, just something I have heard from different people. I ordered a rear end with a 3:89 gear, so I bought a set of 28" tires to gear it down some, I would recommend you get the taller tire to stay in 3rd.

Dont spray in 4th if possible.... youll burn the clutches in no time...
Im currently rebuilding a 4l60e, its not to hard.... but i would suggest not shifting into 4th at WOT at all...
