Default an ls1 stocker with n20 jetting question

a friend of mine has a 2000 ss camaro and just bought a nitrous kit. the car is bone stock. we were wondering if the stock fuel pump would keep up with a 125 shot? thanks.

Is it a wet kit or dry kit? Pre-maf or post-maf...in either situation I think that a 125 is a lil big for a stock motor period....especially stock fuel. Unless u get a good tune. I am only using a 100 wet shot and NO problems. My bro uses a 100 dry NO problems both with stock fuel systems

its a wet kit. he will be running 100 octane if he tries the the 125 jets, so we figured the timing would be okay. he just dont wanna lean it out too bad.

the nozzle is not mounted yet. i thought it had to go behind the maf?

because its less prone to detonation and he does'nt have any kind of ignition retard.

we just want to know if the fuel pump will keep up.

The stock fuel pump will keep up but I believe that 125 wet kit is a lil much on stock timing especially if they are stock spark plugs. Do research and decide which plugs are right for you BUT STOCK PLUGS ARE A NONO. If you could pull timing when you spray and go WOT you will be ok. On stock timing the 125 will be pushing it.

Ferg, please give the right advice.

125 on a stock bottom end is perfectly fine. The fuel pump should be able to keep up but for safety I would put a walbro 255 in it if you want to. run a ngk br6ef plug stock number 3177.

I would pull a couple of degrees for safety but you might be able to get away with it.

I did give him the right advice. He wanted to know if the stock fuel pump would hold and I said that it should! So I think that you need to read all posts before you say that I didn't give him the right advice

+100000 125 is not bad on an LSX at all. If you dont wanna do an in tank pump throw and inline in there. I would get a tune and plugs because you just never know whats going on sometimes and getting the right a/f is the safest way to go

I smell nitrous newbs and cheap HP goals(neither is bad but please do research so your not in here next week asking why the motor blew)

Man, that could be said for a lot of threads in here...

While nitrous is a relatively cheap source of HP, don't just buy a $200 kit and think you'll be fine. Get quality parts, including a timing controller, and you should be fine with a 125 hit.

Good luck.
