NGK BCPR7ES...Are these good for 200 Shot
#24
Thanks...good to know
I think my guy didn't like the fit with the tapered and preferred the gasket seat which is why he opted for the alternative plug. The plug we are using is definately non-projected and 7 rated (no ceramic visible beyond the threads). Obviously everyone seems to use the br7es's so they would work for me as well. Learned a lot today....Thanks to everyone for their advice.

Finally saw the light!
Thanks to everyone who posted replies. I was going to stick with the NGK BCPR7ES because my Mechanic was convinced they were non-projected plugs. I did some additional research on the internet that definately classified these plugs as projected, as you all had said. I also talked to the folks at AFR and they also confirmed that either gasket seat or tapered seat are compatible with their heads. We just installed the BR7ES. I'm so glad I started this thread because it could have been disasterous running those projected tips on the 200 shot. Learning for both myself and my Mechanic. Just got my PerformaBuilt Level 3 4L60E installed (after built tranny broke) and will be taking the car for a Dyno Tune tommorrow as I found a Tuner in Toronto specializing in LSX Motors. After that it's finally off to the track with my new Drag Rims and Tires, Dedicated Fuel System, Rear Air Bag and NANO..can't wait!

Subscribing. Our combo's are pretty similar. I'm running more compression (11.8:1) and a bigger cam (247/255 .625/.625 on 114). My car should be running in a couple weeks. My only concern is the converter being too tight. PI said to try it with the new combo before doing a re-stall. It worked great with my 382 and 3.73s on 28s. I did go to 3.89s with the new rear. Good luck.
BTW, what DA's do you typically see there?

Don't know the DA here but I am going to do some research to find out. I sent my Yank Converter back to Yank for around $200 for a re-flash for the Nitrous. I'd be interested to know about the drivability with your combo and that cam. Most folks think my cam is too small for my combo and W2W selected it because I drive it as a DD for 6 months of the year.

My 382 had a 242/250 .610/.615 114 cam. It drove pretty decent and loved the spray. Not my daily, but out most weekends and a couple track days per year. Went 10.24 @ 137 on 17 inch DRs, on 93 octane, driven 75 miles each way with the AC going full blast.
How much higher stall did you ask for? I would think a lower gear ratio would be a benefit to you too.
