Default HSW interface users, I really need your advice. about timing retarding.

Okay Im getting ready to install a hsw 90mm. plate kit. I plan on getting ready to pick up a hsw interface tomorrow just to use to retard the timing. Im on a speeddensity tune, so no maf. and it says the interface plugs into the maf. Can I hook up the interface another way to just retard the timing? I just want to make sure that there is another way to hook it up before I buy it. thanks.

Did you shoot over an email to Matt? I think we got the same question earlier today. If not, let me know.

Yes I did..lol here was his response:

You will need to wire it in to the IAT, plus 12v, ground, trigger and output wire to the relay. The Interface uses a MAF harness to do all this, so you would need to do a custom install it sounds like.

I just don't know how hard this would be, it doesn't sound hard, but I would hate to hack up the interface and not be able to get it to work.

have you considered the lingenfelter box, since all you need is to pull timing?

Yeah Im starting to lean that way. It sounds like it would be a cinch to hook up. Just run the orange wire of the LNC-002 into the Nitrous selenoid pos. wire, which will activate it when it kicks on.

While the interface is a great piece (I use it) if you dont have a MAF, it seems like the LNC-002 (I use this too) would be just the thing you need for your application.

Best of success with your project.
