Default damn damn DAMN

Prepping for test and tune Wendsday:
Oil change, check
Trans fluid, check
Rear end fluid change, check
Standalone fuel pump, check
Fuel 'noid operation, check
N2O 'noid operation, check
Install first jet into N2O plate jet fitting, SNAP!
Great, now if I can't get that little part out, I have to order more tubing and sleeves/b-nuts too.

Time for a rush parts order........

Heat it up when you try to extract it and it will come right out.

Thanks Dave, I'll try to track down a good extracter set. I just checked Sears this morning and only saw the $40 and $50 sets. I've broken quite a few of that kind at work so I'm not wasting my own money on those.

Track down a tool truck at one of the local dealerships> I have been using the same Snap-on extractor for 6 years and has never broke.

Man this ordeal is starting to kick my @$$. Ever have those days where every thing you try to fix breaks the thing next to it...
I ordered a new plate jet. When it showed up, it was smaller than the one that came out and wouldn't fit. So I ordered another (set) from the manufacturer of the plate. Got it installed today, went to put the jet in, and the point where you put the jet was too small! So I take it back out and drill the fitting out deep enough to install the jet. While doing so I notice that the threads are looking kind of galled up. Aluminum's soft so it's easy to do. I try very gently to reinstall the fitting, but with just a little pressure on the wrench, it screws up the threads in the plate, and on the fitting! Now I gotta pull the plate out so I can chase the threads and make sure I don't get any shavings down into the plate flow channels I don't own the right tap yet, anyone know what thread pattern that is (threads per inch)?

And to top it all off, around 4-5 days ago I installed a new liquid filled fuel pressure gauge on my standalone fuel system regulator for troubleshooting.
Today, there's no liquid left in the gauge, it sprayed out all over the radiator support and airlid. The gauge doesn't look bent or anything. I guess it must have come in contact with the hood or something, I don't know

Anybody have some spare Killians Red, I could really use one right now...

Closest track to me is MidMichigan Motorplex at just over an hour away.
Milan and US131 are more like 2 1/2 hours.

Gotcha. I go to milan but I doubt you are driving 2.5 hours when you can drive 60 min.

Talk about poor luck..lol I have had those days as well. When I start having luck like that I walk away and go back to it later. Not sure which thread pitch you have. Guess it depends on what the manufacture did there. If you ordered the first jet fitting from us you would have recieved a 5/16npt fitting. If that was to small and you ordered one from CF and it fit its probably a 1/8 NPT fitting..

The liquid from the gauge could be do to the gauge getting to hot and over pressuring. We have been seeing alont of that out of the liquid filled gauges these days. That is why our new gauges we are about to release are no longer liquid filled.

Yeah, it's understandable. As far as the liquid sprayed, it looked like a catastrophic failure. Those liquid filled NOS n20 gauges I had blew too, but with the windows up in a black car in the summer, you know how hot it can get. I'm avoiding liquid filled gauges in the future at all costs.
That plate fitting is definately 1/8" NPT, it's the same size/thread pattern as the 1/8 plugs in bottle ports. You know what they say about assuming.

I actually wouldn't feel bad if I broke something at the track, but I'm breaking stuff parked in the garage without even getting to beat on it lol
