Tuning based off plugs.....
I posted this question here because it seems this is the section that has the most plug tuning knowledge or at least discusses tuning from the plugs the most.
What I'm wondering is are the same general concepts you look for when tuning a car for spray carried over to say NA tuning or boosted tuning? For example tuning a s/c car (or NA for that matter), pulling the plugs after a pass are you looking for the timing line to be towards the top of the bend on the strap like you would on spray? Are you looking for the same general fueling guidelines as well? thin line around bottom of the porcelain and a clean turn around on top of the threads?
Say you have a boosted car that likes to run 11.4 wot and are adding nitrous to the mix, what should you be expecting and is it still the best idea to get the plugs to look like as mentioned above?
Also how about the projected vs non projected in a boosted application? What are the benefits or drawbacks to either side? Also while still on the projected vs non projected, I went to check out the NGK R5724-10 for my nitrous ls1 (250 shot and 75 shot in 2nd stage) and found that its a non projected, whats w/ that? I was under the impression non projected was the way to go? I was considering putting those in my hotter holes until I saw they were projected, I didn't want to start mixing projected and non projected in my motor so I didn't pick them up.
