Default couple nitrous questions

i have a 2004 LQ4 in my 1999 gmc sonoma, with a 4l80e & stock converter and 3.42's it ran 13.20 @105.86 mph, i have a grudge race with a guy at work witha turbo hatchback civic.. he has run 13.30 @ 109mph with street tires and a 2.3 60'. he is going to use slicks next time, which could potentially put it in the lowww 12's.
i now have 3.73's and id like to spray a 100 shot on it and go 12.0-12.1 and then spray 150 and go 11.50-11.60.....
the truck weighs 3700 with me in it...

i was wondering what a decent wet kit is for my motor.
i used a NX universal efi kit on a different motor with good luck.
i was looking at the ZEX ls-series kit because it works thru the TPS and stuff...
any info on this kit?
and also what are people using/prefer for timing adjustments/tuning.?
how much timing retard on a 150?
also the sbc i used nitrous on before, i used 2 heat range colder plugs, should i do the same on this motor??

any help would be great, THANKS!!

Get a plate system for you motor application it will make it much cleaner looking under the hood, unless you are dead set on a nozzle system. For timing you can use the timing tuner, lingenfelter box, or MSD timing twister. The rule of thumb on nitrous 2 degrees on every 50hp. For a 150 shot you should be able to use an NGK br6ef but a 7 would be a little safer.

thanks for the quick reply! the only reason i didnt look at a plate kit first was i am awful tight on space between the radiator/fans and t.b./air intake..... i dont know if i can spare even the thickenss of the plate...
i will look into tho.

i was told the timing tuner worked pretty well... maybe ill look into that one.
any thoughts on reaching my goal?
the truck has 1 5/8s headers, "0ff road" 2.5" y-pipe into single 3 1/2" exhaust, 3 1/2" straight thru magnaflow, some computer tuning by current performance, cai

oh yea i have a granatelli 255lph pump in the tank and -8an lines to an aeromotive regulator....

With a 100 shot I shaved a full second off my 1/4 it a 4200 lbs. truck. This is the general rule also 1 sec for 100 hp juice. Therefore you should take nearly 1.5 second off your current time.

One heat range should be enough for a 150.

If your tune isn't really aggressive you can run a 100 shot on your current tune. Run 110 race gas on the spray and you will be OK. For the 150 you should take some timing out. Obviously if you are running the 150 soon then just get a timing controller.

Zex isn't all that good, I would go with Harris speed my self, but nitrous outlet seems like great stuff too!

With what you have our Nitrous Outlet or Brand X single nozzle system would be a great option for you. They are both on sale to..

If you have the room and want a super sexy install check out our GM truck specific systems. Our plate will move the throttle body forward 3/4 of an inch. Here is a link to check them out.

I would use the NGK BR7EF.

Timing wise I would use the lingenfelter. It is super easy to install and can remove up to 15 degrees of timing. If you have efi Live you can use the Coss 5 to remove the timing.

I have used a single nozzle system for higher hp levels than 150. If using a nozzle its all about putting it in the airtube so that the mixture has enough time to attomize into the air stream flow path.

Our plates completely saturate the air intake flow path providing the best attomizex mixture possible. If you are thinking of going over 200 and do not plan to go directport I would not do it with anything but our plate.

Your system jetting will be based off the jetting your fuel system is. So in your case it will aslo be at 60 psi.
