Default New Best

Last weekend I went up to Dallas raceway with Kyle and Tony as they tested their new combos for the upcoming LTx Shootout. Took the car up since I was going to have a little fun. Knew my bottle was low but figured I had enough to make 1 nitrous pass................bottle gave out around the 1000' mark but was still able to click off a new best 1/4 ET.

60' 1.424
330' 4.075
1/8 ET 6.303
1/8 MPH 111.83
1000 8.207
1/4 ET 9.826
1/4 MPH 132.02

Looking forward to Sept 4th and setting the car on kill...

Ray,
Congrates on the new best... It still amazes me that this bottom end was put in back when I had the speed shop down on franklin. I do not know another Nitrous car that has had the same short block with our being freshened up for the same lenth of time.

Yep...the shortblock was assembled back in the summer of 2003, and has had multiple heads/cams combintations ran on top of it. Plans areto pull it out and freshen it up for next year.

good ear....the car did surge once shortly after launch, hit the limiter on the 2-3 shift, and then really broke up on the big end when the bottle gave out. I was trying to stay as close to WOT as I could to attempt to get through the traps.

Going to raise the rev limiter a bit for the LTx Shootout to give me a little more room...right now I only have 200 RPM between the shift point and the rev limiter. I have kept raising my shift point and the car keeps dropping ET.

quick rundown..let me know if you want to know anything else

396cid, eagle crank, eagle 6" rods, Ross Pistons
AFR 227 Heads, T&D Shaft Mounts
246/254 .613/.590 112 HR
Edelbrock Vic-E EFI, BBK 58mm TB, N2O Elbow
OEM PCM, MSD Opti, MSD Digital 6
700r4, 3000ish stall w/lockup
Moser 12 bolt, 3.73s, posi
Spohn Tq Arm, panhard, Billet LCA w/heim joints
QA1 Shocks, single adjustable
3220# Raceweight

Yes it was on a foot brake....I launch from right above idle, converter flashes to ~5500. Car will cut mid 1.3 60's with a little tuning for track conditions. I needed a little less tire pressure than what I ran on that pass. (20 psi).
