Default Nitrous issues....

I don't know what the deal is with my nitrous. It hits hard and sprays fine through 1st, but through 2nd and 3rd it feels like its not getting enough nitrous or something. It feels like its cutting in and out but it never feels like it shuts off completely. Its weird, it just falls on its face around 5200-5500 and feels like the rpms don't want to climb any higher. It doesn't do this all the time but most of the time. Its just hard to describe to you guys without actually giving you a ride.

Nitrous Express solenoids from a universal EFI kit, Nitrous Outlet 78mm plate, BR7EF plug, pulling 8 degrees of timing, 950-1000 psi. It did this when i had a single nozzle also. Some other guys think it might be a bad ground or a bad solenoid? But i've checked the grounds and everything looks ok.

Sounds stupid but log voltage... My car was doing the same thy last year and it turned out the alt was on it's way out... Only showed up during "long" pulls in high gear.

1) How many amps do all of your solenoids draw?
2) How many amp relay are you using?
3) Does this happen with a different Nitrous bottle?

Hello 01SOMZ28, What jet numbers are you running? what are the plugs gapped at? Have you checked the nitrous filter for partial blockage? If you have NX lightning solenoids, they normall come with a filter pressed in the inlet fitting so you can inspect just by removing the feedline. The stainless based NX ice man solenoids had a filter in the body inlet (behind the inlet fitting).

if your running a wot switch then have someone push the gas pedal for you and make sure the wot switch is fully engaging... mine was doing the same thing and found out it was the wot switch not engaging all the way when the throttle linkage touched it.

There could be a few different things to cause your problems..

Ill mention a couple here but If you want to brain storm together call me and I will walk you through a series of check points until we find the issue.

1. Clogged fuel filter.
2. Voltage issues
3. Bad ground or to small of wiring.
4. FPSS adjustment
5. Not enough fuel pump
6. Airfuel
7. Bad bottle fill
8. Bottle mounting.

What size shot are you spraying.. You can respond to my list with an explanation on each if that works better for you.

Well, i had an idea of what might be going on with my nitrous system and why it would fall on its face and cut in and out.

60% of the time it would always cut in and out and fall on its face when i would spray a 150 shot. It never used to do this when i first installed the kit though. The problem developed a while ago and i could never figure it out.

I started to think i might be having a fuel problem like the pump might be going bad and isn't giving enough fuel on demand and that big of shot is just draining the fuel rail, resulting in the issue i'm having. So tonight i decided to lower the shot size to a 100 shot. Went out and tested it a few times and it pulled nice and hard through every gear all the way to redline everytime. I think my problem lies with the fuel system. Does anyone think this sounds like the problem also?

Well, there would be your problem... if the dyno numbers in your sig are close to being real, you're lucky you haven't broken parts yet...

I would be willing to bet the fuel pressure was falling off as well.
Make sure you got the hotwire with the pump.

Why are you not flowing your fuel? This will tell you instantly wheather or not your fuel supply is inefficient or not.
