bigger injectors for my kit?
ok i just bought a wet kit and i am putting it all in when i return from iraq in october. i will have full exhaust, cam, fast 102 w/ matching tb, SLP intake, tuned... if i run a 100-150 shot... to get me right around 550 ish... maybe a lil less to play it safe... will i need to upgrade injectors and fuel pump? i heard anything over 500hp needs new injectors and pump. i actually dont know if this should be in fuel injection forum? but anyway.... i just really dont want to take the chance of running lean. and i have been told by several people the fuel safety switch is just a big problem and to get a FP guage. no problem but i am new to the whole nitrous thing and i really dont wanna spray my 1st time and implode my heads haha. really i just want to see about the fuel system, i wanna make sure everything is up to par for the kit so i can make as much RWHP with a (internal) stock ls1. thanks guys
I'd upgrade the injectors only to the extent needed by other mods... You don't need to upgrade them for the wet shot. The pump, on the other hand will be needed, since you hAve no mention of using a supplemental fuel system.
On the FPSS I agree with what you have said. They ad a giant pain and, in my experience, fail frequently. Put a good fp gauge in the car. If you want to go the extra mile set up hp tuners to log fuel pressure.
Also, make sure you have a non-projected tip 7 heat range plug in the capantry the car tuned appropriately, and have a good way to regulate bottle pressure!
Happy spraying and thanks so much for your service!
