Default Some racing related nitrous questions

I've got a few questions for all of you nitrous gurus. I do mostly bracket and index racing so consistency is huge for me.

1. How critical is bottle pressure? Will 25-50 psi make a big difference on ET?

2. Should I purge it every run? I can't see how air makes its way into the system after the intial purge unless it gets in the bottle during filling.

3. Also i have been told to close the bottle valve after every run (in case of leaks). Is this what you all do?

1 bottle pressure is huge but 50 psi isnt going to make that much difference now it you ran a 950 psi and you go down to 650 that would be a be drop in your ET.
2. I would do a short purge before every run that gets the nitrous up in the line and that way you will not have just air.
3. You should not have to shut your bottle off every run if your leaking nitrous something is wrong with your noids or lines.

4. You may want to check out a nano if you run a bracket race or Y up two 10lb bottles in the back.
Good luck.

I agree with dnkynrbk on this.

Thanks for the info. This weekend I did purge before every run and was surprised at how much air I would get out. I will prob end up with nano eventually, but dont have the money for it right now.

If you Y together two bottles its helps keep the bottle pressure up. But then you have to have to blankets lol.

Good info, but I close the bottle after every run, no need to have 1000psi sitting in the line for an hour or more.
Probably not a big deal either way, just what I do.

the price on nano systems really isnt bad. you could do a 3k psi kit for about 350 i believe. Brad could chime in on that since I dont have my price list with me.

Ideal bottle pressure is 950-1000psi. i'd do a long initial purge then purge before every run just to get the bottle pressure down if needed.

Hope this helps.
