Default Extending MicroEdge wiring harness

Anybody done this?

I'm getting my ducks in a row to ( hopefully ) get the car in the 10's soon, and since the car is no longer a "street car", and is stripped down, I'd like to relocate my MicroEdge from inside the glovebox to my radio delete plate.

Problem being that when I installed it, I didn't leave enough wire. I need about another foot or so and I REALLY don't want to have to do all that soldering.

Does anyone know where I could get a harness extension, or even the connectors to build one myself? It would be greatly appreciated.

It's 8, and I'd have to do it under the dash. Not fun.

Nobody?

Even if someone could tell me the name of the connector type ( I've looked ), I could build my own extension.

HSW, you guys know?

Can you post pictures of them. I'm not sure which ones they use.

It's probably going to be expensive compared to soldering them.... You can't lengthen everything outside the car and then install? Connectors (if you buy one at a time) can get expensive.

Also, you'll need to pick up a special set of crimpers to properly crimp the pins on.

I'll get some pictures up either tonight or tomorrow.

I wish I could lengthen them outside the car. If I could, I'd just go ahead and solder on some extra wire. The location I have the wiring in, and the fact that I didn't leave myself any slack and soldered all the connections makes it impossible to do anywhere but under the dash.

In all honesty just soldering them is going to be the easiest and least expensive route.

Unfortunately it's looking like it...

I'm gonna be messing with the car tomorrow, and may make a trip to Radioshack to see if they have something I can use.

I would just solder... I don't trust connectors whatsoever.

Got the MicroEdge wiring extended and got it mounted on the radio delete plate. I did wind up just soldering it, by the way. No easy harness to just plug in.

Here's some pics:

I simply cut a template out of cardboard for the radio delete plate. Cut that out until it worked and traced it onto a sheet of aluminum I had laying around. I painted that sucker black and mounted it up.

Here's some pics of it in the car, fully mounted with the MicroEdge velcroed to it.

This brings it out where I can see the thing to make sure everything is where I want it, and can make quick adjustments.

What's everyone think?

I scanned a traced outline of the radio delete plate as a starting point for anyone who is interested in one. Just shoot me a PM.
