Default Spark Plug Confirmation

I just bought a Zex wet kit that will be spraying anywhere from 75-125 shot.

My car is a 98 Trans Am with a lid and open cutout. I would like to know if br7ef plugs are too cold for my setup. I don't plan on making any further mods anytime in the near future.

Run them when you spray and change them when you daily drive. You'll notice that it will run like **** if you daily on those plugs.

It won't if your tune is clean at idle. Leave the plugs in on the street and make sure the tune is right. If you foul a 7 street driving it's because you've got too much fuel in the idle circuit, not because the plug is aggressive.

I've noticed a difference (along with a handful of people i know) in how our cars run with this plug. I put it in when i go to spray and change them out when i'm done.

I just want to represent that any differences are not the plugs fault...

If you're running around with an idle/part throttle tune that's a bit too rich a hotter plug will mask that. You put the colder plug in and are like, "WTF, this idles and drives awful."

I drive my car all the time with 9's in it, and it runs pretty much exactly the same as it does on a 7 or a 6. I got tired of having different heat range plugs sitting around, so I fixed the real problem.

Yes... What you have to realize is that the tuner can only compensate for what he sees. If you had a hotter plug in when it was tuned, it would have probably acted pretty normal at idle. Put the colder plug in, and it runs like **** because it was really too rich all along. Nothing the tuner could have done to anticipate that, just the way the cookie crumbles.

I am pretty amazed that a 7 is causing it to act up though.... It's not like you've got a really cold plug in there.

Once i start driving it drives fine but sitting at a stop light it idles terrible and almost dies. Never did that with a TR6.

I guess i never thought of it the way you just explained it. Makes sence though, because i've never ran a br7 on the dyno

It will run a little worse at an idle over the tr6 with the tune for the tr6... If u have it tuned with the 7 it will run better and cleaned up alot at idle seeing as it is a colder plug.
