Will lowering the window switch to 2500 rpm hurt?
Well, I have a NOS 5177 dry kit on my car. I am spraying a 100 shot through it and I am really impressed with it so far. I am still running a stock stall if that makes a difference.
Well, I am heading out to HRP this weekend and will be running my car on ET Streets because I can't get the Nittos to hook up on a n2o pass. I would like to get the best time possible out of my car. Would it hurt anything to lower the window switch to say 2500 rpms just that one pass?
Chris

You might be able to get away with that but, if of you are wanting to spray that low in the RPM range I would go down to a 50 shot or so then bring in another 75 shot @ 3200rpm or another 100 at 3500 rpm.
I believe the kit you have comes with 2 solenoids so I would use one for the first stage and buy 1 more nozzle and just have a two stage setup I can't remember who it was but I know someone in the DFW area went 10.8x's on a stock convertor with a two stage setup turning the kit on at a very low rpm.

I was in the same boat as you before the converter swap. I have the same kit and made it a 2 stage by having the main line connect in between the 2 solenoids instead of on the end. I made a new nozzle for the second stage and used the 2 hoses that came with the kit for the second stage. You can also have one hose on each solenoid. I have the first stage engage off the WOT switch with a .028 to .032 jet. Use the first stage jet to adjust to available traction. The second stage ran off the window switch. Best was a 12.14 with a 1.83 60' on 245 drag radials. Was i spraying the car at low RPM yes. everyone told me not to do it, but i ran the car most of last year like that and had no problems. from a volumetric standpoint a 35 shot at 1500 rpm is the same as a 70 shot at 3000 rpm. Just make sure your tuned right. and dont get greedy. feel free to pm me if you like.
