Default Anyone make their own stand alone?

Toying with the idea of going with E85, but my fuel system will not support nitrous if I do it.

I could get the tank welded up at work, but do not know what other items I would need. Pump and regulator but what ones? What pump and regulator are you guys using?

Anyone done this before?

I plan on doing one eventually myself. If the tank is going to mounted up front. Most say the holley blue is plenty for a stand alone, but the holley black is best if your worried. And the regular cheap holley pressure regulators can not be beat. If the tank is mounted in the rear of the car, the holey black is a must. This is for low fuel pressure kit, of course..

Since you are going to make your on fuel cell, see if you can make a few more and sale them to recoupe your money. I would buy one from you if the price is better than the retail outlets.

I know summit and Jegs sales a 1 gal. alum. or plastic cell for around $100, you more than likely could build several for that....

Your problem will be running E85. All of your components will need to be compatable. Why don't you want to throw c16 or some other conventional fuel in it?

I put my own together with a 3 gal cell in the trunk, braided SS fuel lines, walbro 255 inline pump and a Aeromotive A1000 regulator

My plan is a 1 or 3 gallon cell in the trunk, 100 micron suction fuel filter, a Holley HP 150gph pump(gerotor is supposed to be better than rotary vane), a Holley 12-803 regulator, and whatever line and fittings I need.

Never totalled it up but easy 500-600 after all said and done. 40+ feet of SS braided line isnt cheap. Works good though.

i have just finished my own stand alone and my cell is in the front by the bumper and i have a quick fuel pump and regulator, all the lines are pretty short and easy access. ive got about $550-600 in it and it looks bad *** i get complements all the time.

Rather than a stand alone up front it would be cool to see someone put a regulator between the stock line and rails. then feed the return to a low pressure regulator and run real return back to the main tank with the regulated side feeding the nitrous kit. would do the job without another tank.

I'm planning on doing something similar when I add the second stage after the first of the year. Going to do a complete fuel system, but add a second regulator that feeds the 2nd stage. Dual intank pumps, -8 feed, stock feed as a return.

Sure... I'll post something in the am.

It will basically be 2 255's into a -8 feed y'ed into two -6's. One -6 goes to the fuel rails and into a kirban regulator to feed the motor and gets returned through the stock feed. The other -6 goes into a Mallory bypass style regulator (the same one fox body guys use when they convert to a carb with the stock high press. pump to low press. reg. to a carb) and feeds the N2O kit. The return from the N2O regulator goes through a -4 to the stock feed as well. One pump runs all the time and one is turned on with the nitrous arm switch.

I will be deleting the O2's so I can run straight C16 in the main tank at the track.

What are you guys using for a fuel filter on these? Also, is a return style system necessary?

How about this?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-12-802-1/
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RCI-2010AD/
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-230106/

Then I would need a small braided 8an to 8an line from fuel cell to filter. Then a 8 an to 8 an line going to a 8 an to 3/8 npt fitting to the pump. Then another line from pump to regulator. Then another from the regulator to fuel solenoid. Would probably end up with about 330 or so in this setup. Should it work ok?
