Angry problems once the nitrous is activated

well i installed my first nitrous kit and i'm having a problem. i installed a dry nitrous system, just running a 50 shot for now until i get the car tuned, with br6ef plugs. i've gone back and checked all of the wiring and it is correct and everything has good power and grounds. now here's my problem....

once i turn the switch on to being spraying the car seems to hesitate then it will kick in and run for a few seconds then hesitate again. what could be causing this?

i have the stock timing since i have yet to get the car tuned, however...is timing really needing to be adjusted with just a 50 or 75 shot?

the plugs are gapped at 48. a friend with tr6 plugs on his nitrous set up gapped them at this.....would it be different since i have the br6ef?

48? You shouldn't be gaped that big. 35 or 40 I believe.

You need to gap your plugs at .034-.035.

yes it's still plugged in. i was jw if maybe i was supposed to leave it out.

well i went back and regapped all of the plugs. in second gear it's still hesitating/shutting down, third gear it seems to slow the car down in high rpm. the only other thing i could think of is i need to move the nozzle on the air lid to a different spot bc maybe the computer is reading it wrong and not adjusting correctly. aside from that i'm running out of ideas.....

anyone got anything else?

1. Unscreen the MAF if it is not already descreened (it is freezing the MAF)
2. Move the nozzle to just right in front of the IAT sensor.

I was shooting a 100 shot and had the SAME problem as you. I descreened the MAF first and it helped alot but still had a slight hesitation. I then moved the nozzle back about an inch and now it is great.

You can see in the picture where the nozzle use to be and I closed it back up and then I redrilled right infront of the IAT and it works great.

Hope some of that helps.

Descreening the MAF sounds like it may work. How would I go about doing that?

I took some extra fine needle nose pliers and just pulled it out. If you dont have any you may have to push it out from the other end. BE EXTRA CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH ANY OF THE WIRES !!!

just took a closer look at your picture.....is the nitrous not supposed to be spraying on the IAT?

In all honesty I do not know. I am pulling timing with the IAT resistor mod so it wouldn't make a difference for me either way it will read a constant temp.

ok well today i get off of work early so i'll try to move the nozzle to where it doesn't hit the IAT and see how that works.

anyone else with any other suggestions?

i guess it spraying on the IAT sensor was effecting how the computer was responding to it. i moved it to the opposite side of it and put it at a slight angle and everything works fine now
