Default Spraying nitrous early in first gear with A4....

Ok, I am running a window switch and 100 dry shot. I have my window switch set for 3000-5800. With an A4 with 3.23's it takes some time before first gear gets up to the 3k to engage my nitrous. I was wondering if I could maybe bump the window switch down some just for the first gear engagement to try and engage it faster to lower my et.

Below is a thread I found while searching, not sure if it is the same question I am asking or not:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/nitrous-o...f-line-a4.html

Some people in there say do not spray under 2800-3000 rpms while others say they have been spraying off the line for years with no problem.

Yeah if they are spraying off the line for years they probably have a high stall converter.

As stated throughout that thread i wouldn't spray below 3000pm's.

Most " Spray out of the hole " means that instead of locking out a gear or putting a delay on the nitrous they are activating the nitrous out of the hole in first gear.

But I guess I am better safe than sorry. I will just keep it in the 3000-5800 range.

I would NEVER run a m6 car without a window switch. It is almost as needed on the auto. But at least there I can see how people get away with it.

I would say lowering it to 26-800 is still safe. I wouldn't go any lower.

^ Agreed, if you start spraying and break the tires loose its gonna hit some high RPM's very quickly. You will wish you had a window switch!

If you have a stall, spray it out of the whole.

I just sprayed mine out of the whole the first time the other night, made a huge difference. I originally had a best time of 11.7 @ 118, went to the track the other night and sprayed it out of the whole, new time was 11.3 @ 119 with a 1.6 60' my old 60' was 1.9

Spray it all when you stomp it. If you using a window switch and the man you racing is spraying off the line, the only window you gonna see is his back one! lol

Well I guess if window switches aren't important and rpm's aren't important, then the shot shouldn't be important I'd just pull your jets out of your nozzle and just let her rip, I guarantee you won't lose!
