Spraying off the line A4
Looking at some MT drag radials and was wondering what ya think is the best. I was gonna spray at 2000 leaving off the foot brake at 1200. Looking for a 1.7 60 or so.
Spraying 110 wet shot.

Well heck, your saying I need a stall then. I know its not the best. I guess I could up the shot instead and spray 3000 again with the tires. On street tires it will spin alittle spraying 3000 in first, so a bigger shot would problay burn the street tires.

I would highly recommend not spraying below 3000rpm, as everyone here has already pointed out. Also, a good converter will do wonders when used with nitrous so I would suggest looking into that.
You could also get one of the inexpensive progressive/window switches from Nitro Dave. This would take care of the issue with spraying at too low of an rpm and it would allow you control over smoking the tires.

There's no real reason you can. Granted, if you puddle, or stall, then it can back fire.. But I NEVER had any problem spraying off the line, and this was wit a 150 shot..
Granted, it took my rear end out.. Well, not really. It just whined like a mofuka.
I say jet correctly, and then go for it. If it does backfire, hell, a new intake manafold might be in order.
^ the above post is my opinion only. These opinions are not to be taken to the grave. Do what you want to do, i did.
By spraying out of the hole, i acheived a 1.7 60 ft, on Nitto DDR's on a subframe connected Dragshock stock convertor car. HTH

when i had stock converters in my car, i would spray at 2000 rpms according to my stock tach. now, i've been told the stock tach is lazy and all that jazz. and that i just am not doing that.
here's something to chew on.
mods:
slp airlid
no air filter
200 n2o (motor rated)
245/50-16 goodyear eagle HP tires
426rwhp/517rwtq
11.97 @ 118.04 with a 11.99 the very next run. both with 1.9x 60ft.
my thoughts, do it. but, expect to pay when something happens.

I'm not tell you to but I've always done it. Had over two years of spraying a TRUE 150dry shot(# 6 line, pro race solenoid, etc) from home on my '01 WS6 'vert with drag radials, lid and exhaust. It ran 11.40's@121mph. I 'm spraying 100hp WET KIT from home on my '98 WS6 with drag radials a 2500 stall and exhaust and it runs 11.70's@119(although I dont feel near as comfortable with the wet kit!)
If you have to drive the car every day I would be a little more careful, if something breaks on mine its just an excuse to upgrade!

Dry shot = yes
wet shot = no
The bigger the shot, you generally should wait til a higher engine speed to inject.
I would shoot a 100hp dry shot at 2000 RPM, but I would not do a 200hp dry shot at 2000 RPM.
A higher RPM converter will give you some slack here.

good question. I have not payed any attention to what the converter flashes to on N20. Im guessing at least 500rpm over NA, from the sound of the engine. I never watch the tach as im looking at where im driving and where the other driver is. I will test this the next time im alone. (no other drivers around). when i was street tired and Dry 150 in an ls1 with stock converter, i would delay the spray untill i believed the tires would hold. Then with the 2800 converter and slicks came, i sprayed out of the hole everytime expecting the converter to flash over 3000rpm when it hit, and i never had a problem with the LT1. Apples to oranges, i don't know. I installed the 3800 converter and 5177 at the same time, so spraying out of the hole is mandatory.
