Default Heating Solutions

While I wait to afford a real bottle heater, I'd like a temporary solution to get my bottle up to pressure. I've considered boiling water and dumping it in a bucket that the bottle would be lying in and letting it soak.

What temperature would you recommend I bring the water to and how long should I let it soak in the hot water?

I went without a bottle heater for a LONG time. Some of the things i did consist of this:

1. Have the center air vents blowing heat right on the bottle (if its mounted between the seats) it takes a while but it works

2. Took a power inverter, hooked up a heating pad and taped it around the bottle. Again, took a while but it works haha

3. Took a couple "bed buddys" (those rice filled long tube sock looking things that you heat up in the microwave) heated them up and get them really hot, wrapped them around the bottle and put it all inside a backpack and zipped it shut untill i was ready to use it.

i also took a heat gun and plugged it into the power inverter and had a friend sit in the back seat and warm up the bottle while we drove around

Great suggestions. I've also heard of the hair dryer trick but I seem to be missing on of those around my house.

Honestly, the hot water method seems pretty simple yet effective. Not to mention much safer than the torch method.

get a nano. The heater is only going to help for a few seconds till the pressure drops again. 300 bucks and your done

I do the same thing but I dont use boiling water. I just let my hot water run until its as hot as its gonna get and use it, put the bottle in a bucket and fill it up. I hit it with a temp gun and once it drops I change out the water. I can heat a cold bottle in 20 min, My bottle itself gets to around 92 deg. I throw it in the car and crack the bottle and its usually right at 1000 psi on a full bottle. Works good. Then I just use the heater to help regulate it, but wrapped in a jacket its good for a couple hours in 75 deg weather.

Don't do this. It puts weak spots in the metal wall of the tank.

No reason not to.

Definately isn't the best option considering how cheap real heaters are. Anything that could possibly hurt the integrity of something holding gas at 1000PSI only feet away from me doesn't sound like a good idea.

Probably cuz he doesn't want to do a retune! Lol, wouldn't that be funny.

For a cheap heater system, try to get a peltier unit, they go for like 5 bucks on ebay and you can just wire it to an accessory line with a switch in between, put the hot side on the heater and you should be good to go until you get a real solution.
