Default How much nos can a lt1 block take???

thinking about going from a dry to wet shot..i am spraying a 75 dry shot now. i want to increase the amount. What safety measures do i need to take. The block has 108k miles on it. How much nos can the block take. I have all stock internals.

If by NOS (the brand) you mean nitrous, there are several guy's running 150+ wet shots on the stock internals. You will need good fuel, good timing, (tune) and your nitrous safety features.

I had 175 on a all stock internal lt1 for a long time. Even tried 200. Never had any problems. Like stated above, make sure you have enough fuel, timing pulled, and right spark plugs. The block isn't the problem. The pistons would be the first to go. I would use ngk-br7ef plugs.

I have seen 150 wet for years on LT1's but that includes property safety items and corrected tune. It CAN be pushed but again not all companies have the same rating for their jetting so keep that in mind. One companies 150 is anothers 200 and vice versa.

Just finished my sixth year of racing with 150 shot on my LT1. Too many bottles through the motor to count.

My dad bought a '95 Lt1 new and used a 100-150 for 2+ years then went to a 75 out of the whole and a additional 175 in 2nd for 4+ years. The car had low miles, all bolt ons, and always changed the oil. He always mixed c16 in the tank. He used a Hypertech boost a pump back then. He had the stock tune and tr7 plugs. After 6-7 years he cracked a piston and replaced just the one with another stocker and went back at it.

He used a Nitrous Works plate, and Nitrous Works nozzle.
