Default What ring gap ??? LS2 404ci

hi

i´m putting together my motor now, needed rebuilding

LS2 404ci

and am planing on NOS
This is a street car NA motor and a drag car too in summer time and i´m gona give it nitrous at the track, planning on 100-150-(200) shots maby 250 some time, but i don´t think i´ll go higher then that.

setup
Eagle 4" stroker crank
eagle h beam 6.125
TSP 4.010" bore Wiseco -10cc dish pistons and had piston to wall clerance set to .005"

but i´m wondering about the piston rings gap?
it´s Wiseco GFX Steel Top/Napier rings

what is recomended for me?

thanks

.028'' if you want it to live. you should have some paper work with those pistons. .004'' ring gap for each inch of piston N/A. then .006'' for moderate boost/nos. and .007'' for the big stuff. 4'' x .007 = .028''

yes that's why i asked, don't know where the line lies where the moderare boost/nos will be the bigg stuff.

I was thinking of .022 top and .024 2nd at first that´s .0055" .006" but then again is that enough ? i did extra .001" clearnce on the piston to wall

I wante the car to be mean NA street car , but it needs to take 100-250 shots on summer time at the track whithout any pistons/rings issues, but still be my car to work..

if i go .028" will i loose much CP NA will it draw much more oil up to chambers?
How does this work?
just trying to figure this out

I run .028 top,.026 2nd ring, you know these rings were all designed for racing only.low tension springs really need a scavenge pump to work properly.Aviaid makes one for ls motors.but it goes inplace of you ac compressor. most shops wont set up the rings this loose just for that reason.if its gonna be a street car with no scavange pump, its gonna push oil.but if you want it to live on the big shot, you need loose rings.i run a cast iron block,i made a sheet-metal baffle that fits in the valley pan.and where the knocks sensors used to be i welded AN bungs and ran them to a catch can.its a non vented can, gets constant vacuum.that fixed all my issues.i have no oil in my intake.and i go on 300 mile trips with no loss of oil. call Wiesco and talk to them, but with a good catch can set-up i bet you'll be fine.
