Default Are all AN fittings good enough for nitrous?

I was trying to get a 6- 45 degree female/male fitting this afternoon from a local speed shop. He said that he didn't know if the fittings he had supported the high PSI of nitrous. He also said that there are two kinds of braided lines, a rubber line and a teflon coated line for high pressure. He has EARL and Aeroquip fittings.

Thanks for any info.

I assume you are talking about line ends... You can't use those for nitrous. The line needs to be rated for nitrous and the fittings must be crimped on.

I don't mean the hose ends. I am talking about a fitting that would connect two things together.

Earl's and Aeroquip make fittings to use with the teflon nitrous hose. You need to make sure you are using those fittings becasue nothing other than those will work correctly.

this is false information. you can use other brand fittings for it... i got all of my fittings from a local company that makes fittings. they do an and npt fittings. you can get them in either brass, aluminum, or steel. so all of my aluminum fittings cost $3-$5 each fitting, compared to atleast double from aeroquip or earls. and there is no difference in quality or how the fitting works...

So your normal 90 degree elbow will work coming off the noid, or in my case zex box?
I got what I was told a hydraulic fitting, it fit on my fuel and nitrous in.. then I got a reducer? To go on my passenger rail to the fuel in.. I have fast rails so the fuel on line wouldn't fit the adapter.

I was told by the guys at the shop that all those fittings are the same and it would be fine.. KIA want to double check by someone who knows for sure.

I got four fittings for under ten bucks.. but if I have to have a certain kind I will spend he money..

I think Chris thought you ment the ends you assemble on to the hose...

For AN to NPT there are differences in flare connection. Such as 37 degree or 45 degree as well as machining quality. But for the most part they all interchange and work.
