effects of cam selection with nitrous cars
I was wondering what the effects of cam duration and lsa have on an engine when running nitrous. For example, everybody says the TSP MS3 cam (237/242 .603/.609" on 112lsa) just "loves" the spray. Why is this? What effects does cam selection have on the amount of timing an engine can run without running into knock? I use the MS3 as an example because thats what I have and seems to be a pretty popular cam. Im only running a 150 shot on a wet plate, I know people say cam selection doesnt matter as much until you start ruinning bigger hits, but curiosity is getting the best of me. Thanks for the help.

I'm no expert but if you notice most "nitrous " cams have more exhaust duration and lift. The engine will have no problem getting air, ie nitrous, into the engine, so the extra exhaust duration helps get the spent gasses out.

Thats exactly the way im seeing it as well. Im no expert either which is why I raised the question. So, does the ability to expel the spent exhaust gases easier due to higher lift and duration, help to combat knock and allow you to run a more aggressive spark timing?

I also hear this time and time again about the MS3...
I (like yourself) have the MS3 cam on a 112lsa with a HSW wet plate kit. N/A I make 412rwhp, and on a 100 shot, 517rwhp, and the 150 was 600.8rwhp.
