Default LT1 Problem

I got a friend with a 97 lt1, stock bottom end, lt4 heads, th350 trans. It was running good, 12.2 n/a and 10.1's on a 200 shot, he just swap the old rear shocks and was about to test it out this week but the car now starts boggin down at WOT only, if it goes on 1/2 throttle it will go just fine. We hook up the wideband and at 1/2 throttle its showing 14.4 which seems find but if he goes WOT it will go to low 10's high 9's AFR, we tought it was gonna be going lean and it would be the fuel pump but now we are stuck. Do you guys have any idea of what it could be?

Thanks,

JJ

Your WOT is too rich. Check or replace spark plugs and wires, look for vacuum leaks, any engine codes? Might even be the opti on its way out.

Are those AFR's on motor or nitrous? If its on nitrous, it sounds like the nitrous solenoid is not coming on and he is getting fuel only. If its on motor, he needs to hook up a data logger of some kind and see whats going on.

Check the opti and all it's connections including plug wires etc... Start the engine and stall it up in gear, now see if it's misssing, if so, squirt all header tubes with water in a squirt bottle, when you find a couple not smoking when you spray water on those, there is your problem cylinder(s). Goodluck later
