Default only using 1lb if nitrous per run..

so, I'm lost...
i have a GM cam... 239/251 .570 . .570 , 3600 stall on s ls2 gto....
I'm trapping 115mph on motor, 125mph on spray... so i have a .62n jet, which is 150 shot. now i know this ain't the best cam to spray on, bit its doin good..

when i trapped 125mph was with a nos nozzle, tried upping the shot and didn't gain anything. so came to find out that the nozzle was maxed out... so i got a dyno tune plate..
now the problem is that i only waste 1lb of nitrous per run...with the nozzle, since i haven't tried with the plate...from what i read i should be wasting about a lb and ahalf, but only wasting 1lb...

before the cam i was only gaining 12mph, now 10.....i know the cam is wasting some of it.....but why isn't it wasting like it should?

Stop waisting nitrous and you won't have any problem.

IF you seeing proper gains, why would you be worried about how much you use? The less the better ofcorse!

10mph increase is not a small pick-up lol

Are you running wet or dry?

Whats your concern? (i think i am missing the point here).

If I am reading this right you lost 2mph by going from nozzle to plate?
Does your afr and/ or plugs look the same between the two? I would susspect that you are running richer with the plate hence the loss in mph?

I would not worry at all about the actual consumption. I would be way more concerned with the way the vitals look (reading the plugs, AFR or EGT, consistent bottle pressure...)

Consumption could result in a ton of different factors...
Activation time of the system, shut-off point and etc will all factor how much you are using per run.

I would be more concerned with figuring out where the 2mph went vs the amount of spray your using.

i guess my question should be, how much mph are you guys picking up with a 150shot on top of a cam.

That depends heavily on the design of the cam. How do your plugs look, that'll tell you whats going on.

On a non ls motor...with my jetting I picked up 14mph on a 150 shot...with a non-nitrous specific cam...but my n20 jet was larger then urs and I was making close to an extra 150 at the tire.

I have heard anywhere between 10-15 mph is what you can expect on a 150.

Where's your base timing? That's richer than I'd run it. What do the plugs look like?

What plugs?
What fuel?

Lean it out and it will go faster.

Take some pictures of your plugs after a pass and post them up.

Depends on who you listen to for nitrous theory. Some like to see very small and light fuel ring and some like to have no fuel ring at all.

Tune with the plugs and then look at the a/f for reference.

For your experience level and power range 11.8 airfuel will be perfect.

If ou have a concern that the system is not flowing properly do a nitrous consuption test.

If you ned help on how to do that. Let me know.

Not many guys on here that know what a "dead nutz" tune looks like.

Not saying I do either ..... Just sayin.
