Default High Fuel Psi VS Low fuel Psi

Is one better than the other, I have a standalone, we are running a Big Shot plate under the Accufab 4150 style T/B this year, I can arrange the jetting either way, was wondering if there is a benifit one way or the other.

I like the added pressure, but the low pressure is tried and true. I would worry more about the tune than which system you go with(in other words, either "seems" to be as good as the other

I would think any stand alone with a regulator would allow you do this also no?

On a plate either will work just fine. You will have better luck getting a starting tune up for low pressure.

from what i understand with hi pressure a change in jet sizes can dramaticly change the tune, because the psi is so high its a greater change? idk if i said that correctly but with low pressure u can tune by fuel pressure maybe add couple psi to it instead of changing jets, etc.

With Low pressure a small change makes a bigger difference. Thank about it like this. If you have 6lbs of fuel pressure and take away 1lb it affects the total flow greater.

If you have 60lbs of fuel and take away 1lb it will not have as great off an affect over taking it away from 6lbs.

In all honestly if you have a seperate fuel system for the nitrous and the tune up is close you can make small airfuel changes by adjusting flowing fuel pressure on either set up. Big changes need to be adjusted with fuel jet.

Same rule for either pressure.

Hope my explanation helps.

you can tune by fuel pressure with a high pressure spring as well that what i was doing last year with my direct port setup, this year i will be going to the low pressure spring with my plate kit just bc thats what the jetting specs call for.

I like lower pressure setups for two reasons.

1. You can use a cheap Holley regulator that reacts quickly.

2. Larger fuel jets don't clog as easily (especially on DP kits).
