How much timing should i pull??

Default How much timing should i pull??

Hi i have a Lq4 stock botton end, 317 heads milled .050 pocket ported, cam 236/242 .580 .590 on a 112lsa, long tube headers, edelbrock 2 plane intake, 850 dp carb, msd 6010 controller, 3.73 gears, nx plate kit 100 shot.
i currently running the #6 pill and im going to change the plugs 2 step colder (ngk) but i dont know is how much timing should i pull to be safe, i use my truck on the steet in ocasionally on the track, i hooked up the step retard and if somebody can tell me how much timing to pull would be appreciated.
if somebody has more suggestions to make my truck faster please tell me how to.

pull 4 degrees out for a 100 shot. i believe the rule of thumb is 2 degrees per 50 shot. i pull 6 for 150 shot. with a 2 step colder plug.

If your Na Timing is 28 pull down to 24. Use good gas 93 ocatane or better if you can.

So if i understand right if my step retard is right now at 10 (default on all 6010) i should put it in 4 ?? is that correct?
