Default Difference in Nitrous outlet and Hsw jets

Looking at possibly picking up a nitrous outlet plate to replace my hsw nozzle. I am wanting to spray a 200 shot but there is a pretty big difference in the jet sizes for this size of shot. HSW is 72/38 and n2o outlet is 78/46, Why?

Idk but I would like to know the diff as well. Maybe one is rated at flywheel hp, and one is at rwhp?

Two main reasons:1. Those jets were determined a long time ago and were a safe starting point for the everyday slap a kit on and go spray weekend warrior guy and shouldn't hurt the motor. 2. They are still a safe starting point today if you are tuning by the plugs, for most systems they will be very rich but not all.

Dave or Chris will chime in I'm sure to give a more precise answer.

Carter you run a nitrous outlet setup, what were your 200 shot jets?

It's based off flow calculations or should be. Pick a size and go. Don't get caught up on hp numbers. I use 72 as my "200" as well as most kits.

78/44 but that was too rich, I should have played with it more but I was in too big of a hurry to go to the 250 shot Probably would have ended up with a 41 fuel jet.

The difference is not only flow but also the orifice size of the passageways in the plate. Our jetting straight from us on the plate's is a little on the rich side.
