Default NXL results/pics

Installed my NXL yesterday. Ran the 120 pills. Dyno'ed 416 base, 530 @ 1200 psi (yikes!) and then 511 @ 1000, afr ~ 11.6.

Are the NX hp ratings at the crank or wheels? For some reason I think crank?

I think I'll run the 180's with a lower bottle pressure, 950 or so, and stay nice and fat. I'd rather run a 'big' shot rich as hell, than a smaller shot on the ragged edge.

The kit fits great, very nice looking, nice wiring harness. Very easy to install the rails.

There is a noticable bog when it first hits, I've been told the soon to be released accumlator will solve this problem. NX says in the meantime, it wont hurt anything. How can this be if its dropping fuel?!?!? The torque is down quite a bit from my TNT numbers on my TA. I think this is because there is the bog from no fuel!

All in all, I'm happy with it. It pulls very smooth, there is no surging like my TNT kit had on occasion. I think its time for a progressive controller and a big shot up top! All on stock bottom end.

Anyone know what the stock zo6 pumps can handle?

Dammit... here I thought I might have a chance at hangin' with ya NA, then you not only go out and pick up a DP setup, you get it installed and dyno'ed within 2 days

Didya end up throwing a new fuel pump in there already, too??

Anyways, looks great!! Can't wait to see it run

Didn't do a fuel pump. I'm trying to find a definitive answer, but I've heard from several people the stock zo6 (C5?) pump is good to 550+. I think the 180 w/ low bottle pressure is gonna be a hoot. It already pulls like a mother from a roll.

Now I just gotta get me clutch in, and I should be ready to get thrown out of most any track.....'AND STAY OUT!!!!'

We'll still do some n/a grudge matches, dont worry.

Greg, would NOT run the 180 on a stock pump. I believe the pumps are the same as the F bodies, and no reason for them to be different. Good for 150shot with few mods, more mods, less shot. I run the 180 on a Walbro 340m no problems, other than needing the accumulator. Good luck.

I am 99% sure the fuel pumps are not the same as on f-bodys. Can someone verify?

Default Prices And Install

Just wondering what that setup costs and who installed it? If you installed it yourself, what kind of time did it take?

Dunno on the FRC's, I'm gonna try tonight. I doubt it though.

I installed it. The rails/noids/jets took about an hour and a half, the wiring is just like any other kit. We took a leasurely pace and did it on a saturday. Not harder or easier than any other kits.

I know my Z06 supported 515 at the tire but i did go up to the Race Tronix setup with the 340. and no issues at 610 rwhp.. i only changed it to be safe.. if you monitor AFR on the dyno as well as the 02's when on the street doing your "testing" and all is well then you know your good to go. I do recommend a FP gauge so you can consistently monitor your pressure.. along with AFR its the easiest way to know your keeping fuel to the fires... keep in mind over time when your filter is getting to the point of change or you just might happen to get a tank of bad gas this will kill your motor jsut as easily if you spray it and its not the pumps fault...

FYI mine also jumps very lean for a second.. NOSzle.. i plan on progressing my system so the initial hit is not spiking that high on a consistent basis... that is what will hurt the motor over time... that much cylinder pressure and hooking up are killers to stock bottom ends..

How much is the racetronix set up, and where did you get it? Speed inc?

You still have stock bottom end? I'm gonna get a pump and put the 180's in it muuuahahaaa.

chicago z06 - what kind of lean spike are you getting? i am getting one as well on the noszle...jumps to like 14:1 as soon as it turns on and then settles down to where i want it 600 rpm later

FWIW I seen a NXL in the sale section, decent price too if you want to buy your own bottle.

The spike is also on the Noszle? Odd I never heard anyone mention it. As recorded the lean spike was consistent to 22.1:1 afr everytime I nailed initially, on the smaller shot (120jets) it was almost consistent and a little richer than that.

I took mine off my 97 A4 Vett. and went back to my NX EFI system. I will wait for the accumlator fix (hopefully some time this year). I had lean spikes off the dyno chart as well and dispite NXs claim not to worry I decided I didn't need any melted pistons or worse. I made 1 - 1/8 mile run on the 120 and 1 - 1/4 mile run on the 180 jets.I have an in car fuel pressure guage and it dropped from 60 to 30 psi and the AFR guage went to red lite lean at launch. After recovery the fuel pressure locked on 60psi and showed no drop on the stock fuel system the injectors showed 78% duty cycle max. The car nosed over on launch Both et's were off by nearly a full second compared to the 100 and 150 shot times on the NX EFI single nozzel system.
