Thumbs up Almost ready for the season. Junk Yard Dawg2!!

well, i have another motor all set. cleaned up and stock as a rock ls1. i put my head studs in and cleaned the tops of the pistions, put my cam in it and will be droping heads off tonight to get a valve job.
i was going to put new valve springs in and replace my 4 year old free ones, but they where like $300 bucks. not gonna waist $300 on a free motor. lol so if i have a week one, we'll shim it a bit. lol
see how she goes this season. i am going to spring for new tires. the tires i ran last year where like 4 or 5 years old and pretty worn, after all last seasons racing and street driving, they are junk now.

pretty excited. not going to hit it hard out of the gate. prob tune it in with 100 shot to run 9.50 class then end of the season if she is in one piece bump it up and see what she will do.

cant wait. hoping i pass tech, local track went from ihra to nhra this season, so hope i pass. lol

this motor would run mid 10's easy in my car on motor with a converter swap. im still running my converter from my big motor. lol its so tight its not even funny with this little motor. i need to loosen it up about 1000 rpm or more. lol but to cheap to do it right now, she runs ok.

race weight was a touch over 3300 pounds so that puts the car about 3100 pound because im 185-190 plus gear

I would have expected it to be much lighter. My car is 2975 without me, and I still have a TON of stock heavy parts.

My third gen is 3150 with no driver and it is bare bones, no AC, PS, front/rear and side impact bars removed, glass hood, race buckets, not carpet, just light weight material on the floor boards ect.

Then 3450 with me in it and i am running 7.1 in the 1/8th, i am scared to let anyone else drive the car since no one is used to manual steering box and operate a 6 speed at it maximum potential, so with a 150 pound driver, i really wonder if the car would go 6.9, LOL.

When is the junk yard LS1 going in? Still using stock heads as well?
