Default spraying in 1st gear?

Who sprays in first gear? I have always sprayed in 2nd-4th but that was when I had my 10 bolt with 4.10's on street tires. Now I have a 12 bolt with 4.11's on MT's.

Do I have more potential to break something in first? My t56 is bone stock but with a ram powergrip hd clutch.

I have always sprayed in 1st gear, 10 bolt or not. I have a 12 bolt now and hit a 200 out the hole.

I see you have a 6 spd, you better be able to shift really fast and you are better off with the 12 bolt with that 6 spd. Autos help 10 bolts live longer lives.

Well there is more potential, as you are going to add power to the launch. I would still spray in first. Progress it if you need to soften it to save parts.

hope you upgraded your driveshaft that would be a weak link if spraying out the hole on mt tires or atleast add a driveshaft safty loop and i would spray out of the hole just launch above 3k rpms

I have a M6 with street tires and stock rear. I keep the streets tires on so I can keep my stock rear But heres my question. If you spray in first on street tires how the hell do you just keep from spinning out and going no where except the shop to get a new 9". Hell if I get on it now at 430RWHP the tires just smoke. I have my nitrous set to come on at 3k through 6k. I bet you get to 6 k pretty fast in first! If you use progressive should I set it at 50% or what/

ok sorry I should have been more clear in my post.

I am talking about spraying, from a 10-20mph 1st gear roll. I hardly ever go to the track.

Yes I have a adjustable spohn torque arm that has a drive shaft loop. I still have the stock aluminum driveshaft with the upgraded U-joint for the 12 bolt of course.

as far as shifting fast, I am not worried about that. I always hit my shifts and I always lift also. I shift just as well as the guy next to me who is no lift shifting.

I also have a microedge controller.

on my 10 bolt with street tires, I couldnt spray in first, and most the time even 2nd. On motor I would blow the tires off from a 40 roll. On the bottle, I would blow them off from a 60 on a measily 100 shot.

When I had m/t I sprayed all the time in first and it hooked amazing! I do have a 10 bolt and never broke anything on the street,BUT at the track I broke my drive shaft at 3000 rpms and destroyed my T56 spraying and not lifting through the gears. Just got a rebuild with all the good stuff in it. Im being much nicer to the t56 this time rebuilds are expensive! Id say your good to go just lift on shifts.

I sprayed from a 1st gear roll all the time on a 150 (read 175) shot. I was terrified for my transmission but it begged for more.
