Default Is 150hp shot too much???

I'm sure that this has been beat to death, but I can't find a solid opinion. I'm looking to install HSW's 150 Wet plate kit.

Current setup: SLP Lid, Smooth bellow, S3 TB, LS6 Intake, Underdrive pulley, MS3, Patriot Dual springs, P/P LS1 heads, Tuning by: Carter Racing of Savannah, Ga (447rwhp/432tq), Luk Pro Gold clutch, Fidanza Aluminum flywheel, Built XMSN, 9" w/ 3.73, Pro 5.0 shifter, Pacesetter long tube, ORY, Flowmaster w/ electric cutout, Koni Struts/springs, SFC's

The motor just passed 100k miles, but runs stronger than ever. I have 42# injectors and a dual fuel pump setup also. Ultimately, would a 150 shot be too much or should i stay around the 100 shot range for now?? Thanks.

should be fine... tune needs to be spot on and read your plugs!

Just start with a smaller shot and work your way up to the 150. Get your tune spot on and read plugs at every step.

You should be fine with 150. Like the guys have said make sure your tune is spot on. Keep the timing conservative. I wouldn't be afraid to spray 200 on that motor.

Has years of LSX performance tuning experience, LESS expensive than anyone else in this area, and quick turn around... I know that all of these things should be typical of any tuner, but I've had some bad experiences in the past with other tuners on different projects. To me, the word "efficient" is everything that you would look for in a performance tuner. That is what I mean by "efficient". It probably wasn't the best of word choices though.

Are you going to shoot in first? If so you better get ready to spin ur *** off!
I'm around your Hp but under your Tq and with street tires I'm shooting 15% in first to keep from spinning from a roll. Then pour the **** to it!

Just wanted some clarification.

Does he have any real nitrous tuning? And with a good tuneup and the right plugs there should be no reason to not run a 150hp worth.

He has done 3 other cars for me that had nitrous... all were around the 600rwhp range with the juice, but this is my first LS project car and just wanted to see how realistically reliable a 150hp wet shot would be with my current #'s.

You really shouldn't be spraying on street tire especially in 1st, or 2nd for that matter. I wouldn't spray it unless I was atleast on a drag radial. Sorry OP for going off topic!

No big deal... I'm on Nitto 555 drag radials right now.

What kinda 60fts & ETs does your "street tire" vette cut? You must have a magic street tire or your car is really down on power....

Local guy here cuts consistent 1.6's and has gone as low as a 1.58 on a stone stock suspension c5 with 17in street tires. Very mild H/C car with nitrous.

It kinda sounds like an auto leaving on motor then hitting the spray in 2nd. My 3800lb H/C stick car cut a 1.57 on motor and consistant low 1.4's on nitorus, so that leads me to believe he's not leaving on spray.

I'm just saying, street tires and nitrous is a dangerous mix!

Leaves on a progressive.

Its no different than any of the big HP NA cars or anything else. Just have to know your vehicle. If its spinning and your getting a workout just keeping it straight, I agree, that is not safe.

wow street tires as in m/t et street radials? must be some sick, sick, track prep for a real street tire to hook like that... street tires at my local track just have no hope of hooking.. i have gotten 1.8 60's but thats like 1 out of 10 runs lol.. they just spin so easy. but my track isnt that good either..
