Default N2O confussion

I am getting ready to build N20 motor in a M6 car. I know the basics and all that fun stuff with Nitrous but I have a few questions.

How does a "Progressive" controller work?

What exactly does "NANO" do thats different from everything else?

Do I really need a window switch?

What would be the best controller/set up for a 200-250 wet shot on a LQ4 402 motor in a M6 car?

I'm running 4:10's in the rear, should I drop to 3:73 with 26" tires?

A progressive controller, provides the ground to the solenoids. It will apply the ground to the solenoids based on how you have the "ramp" and other criteria set in the controller.

Example:

WOT activation on
Window set at 3000min/6700max
.2 delay
starting point of 50% to 100% over 1.5 seconds

This is how you might set up a controller. So once the system is armed and bottle open,

You go WOT once it hits 3000 rpms's the delay timer starts. .2 seconds later the progressive will start applying the ground to the solenoids making them activate for half the time, ramping up for 1.5 seconds at which point the ground will stay applied until one of the criteria are not met, such as lifting or if you miss a shift and over rev the car.

NANO, replaces the contents in the of bottle with nitrogen, this happens via regulator. It gives instant pressure, fights pressure drop, and allows you to use all the contents of the bottle.

Yes. A progressive controller has window switch functions built in. The window switch is one of the best safety feature nitrous systems have.

Who does the tuning? Do you datalog often? Track the car very much?

What does the car trap now? How much do you plan on spraying?

Mike @ Thunder racing and/or Geoff at EPS does all my tuning. The only time I have data logged was on the dyno a couple times for trouble shooting but I plan on doing it more often since I have the software now to do so.
I run at the track from time to time but more of a street car. The way it sits now, I'm running the following: 60ft: 1.8, 1/4: 11.2's, trap speed: 122ish@ around 6200 rpm's at the top of 4th. I launch at about 4700-5000 rpm's. Thats my range where I don't bog out the hole.
Thats with the Cam/heads/intake/bolt on's LS1. I'm building a LQ4 402 with the internals to support a 250+ shoot. I'll probably run around a 200 wet shot w/ plate.

A plate system, NOS Mini, and maybe some NANO just to bring it all together would be a great setup then.

You will no longer have a bogging problem.

The NOS mini is the progressive controller from Holley. It is a Handheld that does not require a laptop for adjustment. It works very well especially for a street car. They are able to do delay WOT activation on top of progressing solenoids.
