Angry Ready to say F#$k it......

This is mallory 685 box number 3, the car will not start with it connected. When I use the by pass harness the car fires right up....WTF!!! I retraced the wires with a test light 3 times, I even called the tech line. The tech at mallory said the box is not compatible with the lt1. Bullshit. I'm wondering if I should just go msd. Which msd box do I need? I need a window switch and timing retard. This is really pissing me off.

Here you go

http://www.jegs.com/i/MSD-Ignition/1...oductId=762123

You won't need the opti or coil since you most likely have them already. Just the box and adapter harness

Thanks for the link. I was pretty frustrated earlier this morning when I made this post. I was literally sitting in the drivers seat livid. I'm good now, it's 11:30 and I'm ready to get back in the fight. Thanks again.

The kit I got from you and the crew is flawless, it's when I add the box in the equation. Is larry local to the DFW area?

Thanks, but I want you spraying that flawless kit! He is not but he is sharp guy. I shot him a PM already maybe he can shed some light on this. I am not great with wiring by any means.

I hate to say it, but I would never run a 685 box again. I went thru 2 on my own car and my buddy is on his 3rd in 2 years. The most recent 685 was a week ago right out of the box and it went up in smoke.

again sorry for the bad news

Larry, which box do you recommend? Msd has a few to chose from.

The way I run my car is with a 6AL and N.O. Progressive Controller. I do not need any timing retard since I swap files due to being an A4 car and needing different shift points for NA v's N20.

The common box people use for an ignition box and timing retard is the MSD Digital 6. This still leaves you with needing a window switch or progressive controller.
