Nano..Worth it?

Our nitrous bottle label has a temp label to keep track of the temp. Usually with the added performance and a/f being stable down track overcomes having to put ice on the bottle.

Me and Brad didnt have any issues keeping my bottle cool at the LTXShootout and it was 105* out. Just used a bag of ice/ cooler packs between rounds and a bottle blanket.
BTW I went to the track last friday to do some more testing but blew up my slip yoke first pass. Going back this friday for redemption. Ill keep ya posted on how it goes.

Above 85+ degrees you do need to cool the bottle. If you are at the track ice works great, or the chiller pads we send with the systems work good unless it is very hot.
Usually any full nitrous bottle in 85+ temps will need to be in the shade or chilled, especially if it is inside of the car in the sun. We have been sending most systems out now with a little less pressure on the static side to help with this.

If the customer asks we have been sending them as low as 950psi. Usually we send them at about 1010psi to 1040psi.

it is well worth it. the issue with too much pressure can be a pain though. if you could easily purge the excess pressure, you're good to go.
goodbye pressure drops and waiting forever to heat up (waste) those last few pounds in the bottle.

I would think if your bottle is in the spare tire well the temps would not get too high since the bottle is in the shade.. Of course you'd need to leave your windows down so the car doesnt bake inside.. Just my thought though...
One question I had, is there enough room in the spare tire well for the 3000 kit to fit with a 10lb nitrous bottle?? Anyone setup like that??

It fits, you just have to get creative. You can also slip the nano bottle through one of their supplied brackets and drill a hole on the side there (hard to explain) and it will hold the bottle in place (to pass tech at a track). Otherwise, the nitrous bottle holds it in place because it is pushing down on it (like you can see in the picture).
I love my NANO kit and their customer service is top notch. I have called a few times with questions and concerns and they always seem willing to help. Also, consistent pressure is a beautiful thing

A bit off topic, but does NANO re-certify the bottles? Bought mine in Oct of '06. Went to get it filled at the local paint ball place that always fills it. Guy looked at the label and said he had to check something. Turns out the certification expires every 3 years, not 5 like he thought. Local welding shop does the re-cert's too. Just curious as to cost, etc.

So I kind of want a NANO system too, but it seems like it's plagued with the same problems that nitrous bottles are: temperature. Is there NO way to fix that, so even in 120°F temps I won't have to bath things in ice water or fan them off??? Does NANO only use a single regulator?

Most convenient thing to do is bring a small cooler with you at the track with some dry ice and keep one or two ice-packs with you (the gel-filled things you would use to ice an injury or something). Just place them on the bottle for a few minutes before a run and you will be fine. This is all assuming the conditions get THAT bad (heat-wise) in your car. I just so happen to use it at night every time so temperatures aren't terrible.
