Default How often you change plugs?

Just wondering how long you guys are going between spark plug changes?
Seems to me running a BR7 and most the time not spraying dirties up the plugs pretty fast over a NA gapped plug.

I put fresh plugs in every spring when it comes out of hibernation. Otherwise I never put all 8 plugs in unless I make a change to the nitrous tune. I'll put one in a hotter cylinder & make a pass to make sure the tune is still clean every now and then. I put less than 2k miles a year on mine, but I run -8 plugs in it and never foul any from street use.

How big of a shot are you running?
If your at 125 or below, you can run a tr6 plug and I have gotten 8,000 miles out of quite a few sets.
You just have to watch your timing.
Now, most people here will start bashing on the tr6 plugs right away, as it is a projected tip plug.
But, if you look into the LS-1 tech archives, you will probably be surprised to find that tr6 plugs have been used for smaller nitrous shots since this site has been started.
If your hitting it with a 150 or above, then the tr6's are not for you.

If you look into the archives, you will probably be surprised how many folks have hurt their motors using tr6s including me. I hurt mine on a 125 shot about six years ago. Nomore tr nothing for me, n/a or bottle

Well, it was either your timing or a/f, not the plugs. There is page after page after page of folks using tr6 plugs on smaller shots without any issues whatsoever.

We could spray 400 with tr6 and maybe not hurt it.
But why risk it when there are better plugs out there?

I usually run TR6s@0.040" on the street and the non projected 6 or 7s@ 0.030" at the track. My current nitrous plugs ran for 2 race days and got yanked. I pull them after a race to inspect the engine and tune.

For $20, I have a hard time not changing them often.

Same here, but I would mention, you should not use the same plug for running on nuts & spray.
Unless you are talking tiny tiny kits??
You will run quicker with a little more heat on nuts then a N2O plug.

When I walk in and get a new guy at the store they always think I'm joking or a nut when I order 50 at a time.

Plugs are cheap, don't skimp! Over the past year I have bought around 150 plugs or more. Listen to the fastest guys that can keep a motor together. Several have posted in this thread, you be the judge?
