Nitrous Outlet Drag Radial Car goes 8.65@145
Its been a while since I shared any updates on our Drag Radial car so I figured I would take a minute to share...
I have to admit this is my first time one of our drag cars has been on a drag radials. We have always been on slicks. Tuning a drag radial car is a different monster and along the way we were lucky enough to have many great friends to go to for advice. It took us over a year to build this car and I want to say thank you to the people that helped us along the way.
Thank you to Charles Bourassa, Matt King, Brian Black, Wayne Gopshes, John Amador, Sam Miller, Madman & Company, LSX Power Tuning, Sunshine Performance, Goebel Transmissions, Lingenfelter performance, Sykora Truck.
Our Car is a 98 Camaro. Cars weighs 3050 with Driver.
Engine : 402 LSX with TFS 235 Heads, Texas Giant cam shaft, Super Victor Intake, 4150 Accufab throttle body.
Trans: John Goebel power Glide and Convertor.
Rear, Mossier 9 Inch with 390 gears
Nitrous System: Nitrous Outlet custom spray bars in the intake.
After several failed attempts to the track Madman and Steven gave us a list of things to do to get the car scaled correctly and set up right.
On Novenber 12th we went back to the track.
We were fighting a really bad head wind and the weather was not the best.
Off the trailor the car made a NA pass of 1.61 60ft, 6.72@ 106.32 1/8 mile and 10.41@132.08 in the 1/4
Then we turned on the bottle. 200 Shot
We ran into a few issues on the nitrous. We were running out of gear before the traps and on the first nitrous pass the rear deck lid flew off and shattered on the track.
With a 1.244 60ft, 5.55@124.67 in the 1/8th and 8.74@149 in the 1/4 I didnt care.
We ran two more passes with no deck lid.
1.21 60ft, 5.49@125.76 in the 1/8th mile and 8.66@142.70 in the 1/4
Best pass and last pass of the day was.
1.21 60ft, 5.48@125 in the 1/8th and 8.65@145.42 in the 1/4
We were happy to see these times out of a 200 shot with our combo. The car needs a gear change and a tighter convertor to run the 1/4. This is why mph is down.
Here are two video's from our day.

Nice work. Dave fwiw, everyone I know that has one of those pin on hatch's on their car, don't take it off, ever. They move the bottles up into the passenger's seat area, do whatever they have to so that thing can just stay put. They also have them trimmed so the upper lip is sitting underneath the roof, kind of jammed in there for lack of a better term... most people also have the wing on the back and they have the struts holding that down as well.
Nice results, damn good starting point!
You're also a nut for running it with no decklid.. how was the stability without it @ over a buck forty five

The suspension that this car has is what was on the car when we bought it 2 years ago. It just needed some adjusting here and there.
