Default 2-Stage Suggestions Needed

I am currently running a 100hp dry shot on my '99 Formula. Still using stock injectors and fuel pump. Best E.T. has been 11.91 at 2500'.
I am planning on stepping up to a 200hp shot in my quest for 10's w/stock exhaust manifolds and cats.
I will be installing a Walbro GSS340 in-tank pump shortly and I have SVO 30# injectors and MAFT that I would prefer to not use if at all possible. If you think that this setup will support a 200hp dry shot, I may pursue the injector/MAFT route.
As an alternative, I figured I would just do a 75 dry shot off the line and go wet for the other 125. That way I would have no need for the larger injectors/MAFT and the added timing that would result from their install.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks,
Mike

i think your headed the right way. why don't you want to use the injectors and MAFT? i always used the maft for when i was running my TNT wet kit. always played with the WOT adjustment to get my 02's spot on. i'm not sure if you are going to NEED the injectors, but why not be safe and throw them on there. anybody else?

Chris MinnicH

ps-why do you think the injectors and MAFT will add timing? do you have the MAF-Translator Plus? that's the one that adds timing.

I don't think you have enuff injector to truly see 200 dry.

With Joe's (HackerJoe) car back in 1999 we did...

-Inline pump
-NX wet 150
-75 to 100 dry
-104 race gas

Went 10.81@124.22mph on a 1.50 with a 3700 lb raceweight.

If I were doing it again I would do:
-Intank pump
-150 wet
-75 dry

Ditch your cats. Not nitrous-friendly.

He went 11.49@116mph on a the 150 wet FWIW.

Well we ran a 2 stage wet/dry combo on my car last year around this time and had pretty decent results. Left the stock injectors and fuel pump alone. Ran an inline nos t-rex fuel pump. Also ran race gas and colder plugs; the setup was super safe. Here is a link to a lil more info. Setup was good enough for 10.89@126 on stock internals.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

John, do you have any more details on Joe's car? Was he running headers? I'd like to get into the 10's w/cats, but if you feel they will be a major restriction, I may purchase an O/R pipe. I am not worried about killing them, since I can easily get them replaced under warranty(I work at a dealership).

It looks like the simplest route will be to install the intank pump and run the 75dry/125-150 wet setup. I think using the MAFT to lean the car out for the 30#s will add some unwanted timing.

My suggestion would be the Dry/Wet combo. Its very fast and I have many customers doing it with great results. Leave on 100hp dry then stack 100hp wet. You definately want a great fuel system and you will have to be sure you have enough injector to handle it with your mods. When you do get it worked out though its a viscious combination. Happy Nitrousing
