Anyone have the Cartek Nitrous IAT mod?

Anyone have the Cartek Nitrous IAT mod?
They have, under their Tips section, a neat little resistor mod that when you arm your nitrous system in puts a .25 watt 750 Ohm resistor in parallel (I believe) with the IAT so your engine sees a hotter temp and pulls 3 degrees of timing so you can be safe when spraying. Has anyone done this? If so, what does the schematic look like and how is it wired up? Thanks.

This is a good topic, I'd like to know too! <img src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" border="0" alt="[hail]" /> <img src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" border="0" alt="[hail]" />

Re: Anyone have the Cartek Nitrous IAT mod?
well I know a way to do exactly what your describing but I'm not sure I could explain it well enough
go to: www.installuniversty.com
go to intall docs. scroll down and you'll see the IAT mod.
maybe that could be of some assisant, execpt for the part of that page telling what resistor to use since they're trying to get more timing.
For myself I think I know a way to do it.... it would be a P.I.T.A. to do cleanly.... but you could tap into the IAT on it's way to the computer (the side w/ the resistance side run it to a switch(maybe your arming switch). with a 2 postion switch you could make the IAT be uniterupted with the switch in one position. but in the other it supply's the computer with the correted voltage(the one you designate)
that is basicly what your saying.
One wire going to the IAT is 12vdc the other is whatever voltage the IAT creates.(very easy to figure out which is which)
To wire it into your arming switch maybe be difficult if it isn't the correct switch I.E. double pole double throw... or single pole single throw etc..... you could alwayz replace it with the switch that can do the job....
let me know, with a little info I could prolly help you out with an idea of how to do it...... I'm pretty good at auto electrics!

of course if someone on here has it already then I'm sure they could chime in and tell you exactly how to do it.....

I would like to know also. I am soon to be pilling up to a 150 TNT shot on my stock bottom end and would like to take out some more timing.

Well, the IAT sensor going to the PCM is teh TAN 25pin.
This sounds like a great idea. Being able to pull 3deg. with the flip of a switch would be nice.
Maybe even wire it up to your window switch so it could pull the timing right as it sprays!
