Last night at the track on my first run half way down, it sounded like it was poping or misfireing. The bottle presure on that run was 1050. On the second run I turned the heater off and presure was about 975 and no noticable noise. It was hard to tell because the ferd 5.0 was 1/2 car length in front. I would have won, but fell asleep at the line r/t 1.253 . Still got a 14.6 @91mph. After that run my SES light also came on. Is it possible that the knock sensor set off? It cleared this morning. Hey it was my 1st time at the track, don't laugh to hard. I'll post the rest of the embarasing #'s on the truck forum.
BTW it has done this before w/the higher bottle presure on the street.

it is possible you were experiencing knocking, a byproduct of detonation from being too lean. the additional bottle pressure may have been just over the edge. which nitrous jets you running/?

I was only using 100 shot jet. I taked to Tony and now we are thinking I bent a pushrod. I may be off here, but I changed the MAS once and it leaned the truck so far out, I couldn't run over 2000 RPM until I put the stock one back in ( still stock unit in now). I was hard to tell on the knocking, I don't think it was. Could my injectors not be large enough?

the only way to tell is to scan during nitrous runs. you'll want to know what the O2s and Inj pulse width tells yhou. you dont want to change your injectors until you know you need them. too big injector will cuase poor performance because if it operates too low in the duty cycle, accurate, precise control is loss. yes, a bent pushrod could cause your symptoms.

What will detonation cause? I took one side apart and no bent pushrods to speak of. Tonight I'm taking the other side apart. What is happening now ( I still haven't Auto Tapped it yet ) is a loud tap when cold and when the oil gets pumped through the motor it gets quieter but not gone. I'm wondering if it's a broken spring or lifter now.
Among the first runs I made in Alaska (With my NX wet kit) I had a popping sound also. I could never figure it out. I was running 104 Octane fuel also. I have my car apart now and tomorrow I will have the heads off and I'll know if I had detonation. From then until now I have never had a problem or even had come close to any reason that I might bend a push rod. I'll let yah know if I found out that I had detonation. I'm thinking if I have any damage it would be from then.

If your engine detonates you can see little pits in the piston tops. (I had none) When you here detonation it is a pre ignition that blow little bits of the pistons apart. Now that I am into me engine I see under one intake valve the bowl is light brown. The face of the valve has a VERY LITTLE mark as if something was in between when the valve shut. Now much although, I think I will be able to lap it out with no problem. I have just checked my push rods to see if they are bent 8 of them are 4 on each side. They are bend very slightly but none the less bent.

Looks like a lifter now. I'm just going to put it in the shop. Not bad, I consider myself lucky so far. This is the first time in 46,000 miles that the truck has been in the shop for ANYTHING. Problem is they probably won't take my word for it (the lifter) and won't fix it the first time.

What did you find wrong with the lifter? I also found a bit of aluminum under the #1 intake valve. I think it came from a tit from the casting of the head. None the less it bent the head of the valve in respect to the valve stem.

Im only 90% it's a lifter. It goes in the shop Monday. Hopefully the person I'm taking it to will listen to my diagnosis and take it into consideration. I'm hoping they won't drop the piston slap excuse or thats normal line on me. This thing is sounding like a damn deisel in the morning now.
