Default Modification to MSD Window Switch?

T Byrne's site states that this switch must be sent to MSD for modification so that it is LS1 friendly. What gives?

Maybe your going with MSD for a reason, but the Mallory is cheaper and no pills required.

Technically you're supposed to send it back to MSD for a LS1 conversion but it's B.S., you don't have to. Just cut the 2 wires making it think it's on a 4 cylinder car & it'll work just fine. I have it on my car that way with a dry kit & my freind has it on that way with his wet kit & it works perfectly. It's just a way for them to try to take $35+ more from you.
