Default Need help w/LEDs wired to the N20 system.....

Ok I have my Nitrous system hooked up and wanted to add some LEDs in the car to let me know when and if all the Solinoids, FPSS, WOT switch, Heater and window switch was working. So I wired the Solinoinds pos to pos grnd to grnd for the N20 and fuel to the LED same goes for the FPSS. Then I wired the heater to the power side of the switch (this one I am sure works) then the window switch I wired the LED to switched 12V and grnd to grnd.

Now when I activate the system the WOT LED comes on. And the window LED is always on.

Did I wire the LEDs correct and how can I check them to make sure that they are correct. Why would the WOT come on when I activate the system. I did tap the WOT from the wire that runs from the WOT to the switch then the LED to ground.

Please help...Thanks guys really do appreciate it....

Sounds like you need some diodes or you have some wiring crossed. Your best bet would be to draw up a diagram and post so someone has shot of helping you. Working with words its easy to mean one thing but type another.

Just thought that if I had one on the window switch then I would know when it kicked on and off at the RPM's....So you just wired to the pos side of the noids and then ran the other end of the LED to ground??? Cause that is the set-up that I was looking for..I just want to know that everything is working like it should a little reinsurance per say....So if just run the other ends to ground and leave the LEDs ran to the pos side of the noids I should be alright?? Thanks again for the help. I will try to get a little schmatic drawn up...thanks

Yep! If your window switch is working, then the solenoids will turn on and off at the preset rpm, right? When this happens, current is sent to the solenoids to open. So if you just tap into the "current feed" (or pos) to the solenoids, and wire that to the + on the LED, then ground the LED, you will be good to go. You don't really need anything for the WOT, Window, or FPSS switches.

I did this for my line lock, purge, and solenoids. For the solenoids, I just tapped into the wires returning to the solenoids from the relay. I grounded the LED to the frame. Comes on when the solenoids are activated by the window switch.

Don't understand why you'd want to have an LED for the window switch?

OK I have no idea why I am so confused but I need help. I did draw up a schmatic but I have no idea how to post it. but I will try to explain it here so you can help...

arm sw-------WOT-----.(+)LED--Relay (this is how I think this should be wired)

Relay----.(+)LED----Window (LED to ground in car) (Have no idea as to how to wire this one)

Relay----.(+)LED----FPSS----(-)LED--grnd

Relay----.(+)--N20---(-)LED---grnd (same for Fuel noid)

So in words I have the (+) side of LEDS tapped into the (+) sides of the FPSS, Window Sw and WOT switch and the (-) side of the LEDS to grnd in the car. The noids I have (+) to (+) and (-) to
(-).

I feel so retarted and it is pissing me off as to why I can't figure this out. If anyone knows how to post a schmatic and has one please do so, otherwise can you please explain to me as to how I can make this work. I am begining to wish that I didn't add all the LEDs but the holes are drilled and the LEDs are mounted, so please help..Thanks..I really do appreciate all the help

Mine did the same thing and I have mine hooked up the same way. Just get a diode and put it inline with the window switch LED. Sorry I didnt see this post earlier. I think I was the original one that told you about this.

cool so all I have to do is place a diode in series with the LED and the rest is hooked up correctly?? If that is the case then Sweeeeeeeeet. Or can I just tap the (+) side of the LED to switched 12v and the (-) LED to the yellow wire on the Window switch...Let me know what you think and thanks for the help. And I do beleive that you are the one who put the idea in my head ...hehehe...thanks

Just stick a diode inline and make sure you get the polarity right. Just test it without soldering it in first.
