Window Switch??? And a few more questions....
Hey guys, just trying to get everything figured out.....
First of all, what is a window switch, and what does it do? Secondly, what kit(dry, wet) should i run being an M6 with most of the bolt ons? I want to run the safer of the two... Also, what about pill size? I would like to be able to run this without having to replace injectors or fuel pump...
Also, what kind of MAF does everyone use with nitrous? I know you definitely dont want to lean it out anymore than it already will be, i was wondering if anyone runs with a stock descreened unit? (that should make it run a little richer)
What brand makes the most complete up to date kit for our cars? I know of the 5177 by NOS, what other options are out there?
I will mostly be using this on the street (late night scuffles) from a roll (so i dont tear up the rear end anymore than it already get beat on! <img src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" border="0"> ) Thanks for all the help!

TJ,
The window switch is a very important (safety) thing to have when running nitrous. A window switch gives you the ability to select what RPM your nitrous comes on and what RPM it goes off. This will allow you to keep from blowing your tires off in the lower gears, (1st & 2nd) and keep you from spraying through the REV limiter. For example, I have my switch set to let the nitrous come on at 3000 RPM and go off at 5800 RPMs, just in case I miss a gear while spraying. As far as what kit to use (wet vs. dry) that is a personal preference. Check out this link, there is a lot of useful information here http://home.ican.net/~jsetter/nitrous.html
I used this information when I started looking into using nitrous. As far as the MAF sensor goes, I am currently using a stock MAF sensor with no screen. I have Autotapped my car and it seems to run very well on a 100 shot (dry). I hope this helps, and maybe someone else can give a little more information or add anything I may have left out.
Good luck,
Kevin

NOS 05177 is probably the most popular dry kit here. TNT has an excelent reputation for both it's wet and dry kits. NX also makes good systems.
From a safty standpoint a window switch is a good idea and makes activation almost automatic, a fuel pressure safty switch is also a good idea. A fuel pressure gauge and a A/F monitor are also good options if you won't be using autotap while spraying. A bottle heater is a good option to keep the line pressure consistant, and arguably is required for safe use of a wet system.
IMO for a small to moderate shot of the juice (<150), dry is the way to go. It's easier to install, inconsistant bottle pressure doesn't cause tuning issues and there are fewer points of failure.
