Default Don’t Disconnect your Inline pump!!

Well, as I said I was running rich with the new Walbro Inline in… 960’s O2’s… Great for the NOS runs though…Today I finally ditched the GMAF and put my stocker on with plastic ends.. Man the O2’s automatically went down to 890’s to 920’s and my timing seemed to be higher.. Humm.. I wonder what that says about the GMAF…..

Anyway, put a gauge on the rail with the pump connected.. 62 psi at idle and 58 psi under WOT and is steady… Then I disconnected the ground wire to the pump and the pressure dropped to 58… I am thinking that’s good right… Well, took the car out for a ride and did some WOT runs… Fuel Pressure automatically drops to 50 psi then as I went thru the gears it dropped as low as 42 psi and O2’s were in the 700’s.. NOT GOOD!! The car will run with the pump disconnected but DO NOT think it’s Ok.. The factory pump does not flow enough fuel thru the inline to keep everything happy under WOT..

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up…

Dave

If you disconnect the inline, the inline becomes a restriction.

Yea, I thought so too, but a few people were saying it would work. That's why I tested myself and I am glad I did...

Is this true about any inline pump?
